Indiana Jones IV or Iron Man

Started by =Tired Hiker=12 pages

I really enjoyed both movies, and I'd like to see them both again. Iron Man was a very solid movie, well made, the story unravelled nicely. Indiana Jones was better than I thought it would be. I loved the characters, it had all the adventure I expected, but was that old bag of bones necessary to bring along for the ride?

Anyway, I don't think I could say which I liked better. Both were great Summer movies and both hold their own.

If you can ignore Kate Capshaw's horrific acting, or lack thereof, TOD is the second best.

No way, Crusade was/is a blast. Temple is fun, but doesn't compare.

So in short you don't like it because you think it is racist.

No, I just though it was goofy, period. It felt like a corny 1960's spy flick, with the same type of cartoonish villains and antics that you see in those movies. The use of the Roswell incident and Area 51 added to the spy undertones, which feels out-of-place in an Indy movie to me.

The part about aliens showing the "savages" how to build pyramids is just a side-complaint I have.

Temple > the rest.

Iron Man, definitely.

well I saw Crystal Skull for the first time sunday and I vote IRONMAN easily.IRONMAN is easily the best comicbook movie ever made.10x's better than ANY marvel comicbook film,no contest there and CRYSTAL SKULL isnt near as good as the original trilogy, definetely the worst imo.It was too rushed.they shouldnt have even bothered with this film.I've seen IRONMAN thrice now, plan to see it many more times, where I wont see CRYSTAL SKULL again. Not unless I am switching channels around at home someday cause Im bored and I just happen to come across it and nothing else is on.

ah

this is a tough question.....
seriously, i cannot think right now, i would have to go they are both equally cool as hell.

Haven't seen Iron Man yet.

That said. Indiana Jones 4 was one of the greatest disappointments ever.

aw dude you GOT to see it.Its easily by far the best marvel comicbook movie ever made.hands down,no contest.I normally dont bother my best friend about seeing a movie that I really like but this one is just so awesome I have to keep pestering him about it all the time to go see it.He said he might see it with me this weekend so I hope he does.

Oh, I will watch it

Also, on the whole, Marvel Movies are not extraordinarily great usually.

agreed.Thats why earlier on this thread I stated I was MUCH more excited about seeing another Indy movie more so than IronMan cause all the Indy movies from the past were awesome and their in my favorites list, where marvels movies pretty much all suck that is until now with IronMan.Conan The Barbarian a rare exception.I really like that movie a lot.

Like you,I was let down in a big way over Indy-not to the extremes you were, but very much let down by it all so the opposite occured than what I predicted with these films based on their past history.I expected to love the new Indy movie and hate IronMan but it was the other way around. 😱

You know, Jarvis was never an artificial intelligence in the comics.

They strayed from the comic books.

Actually that was probably the only thing wrong I had with Iron Man. They made Jarvis A.I. That said I've seen Iron Man twice in the cinema. My second viewing was this week. And I will be buying it on dvd. The film it self is flat out aweswome and easily in the top 5 comic-book adaptions.

Haven't seen Indy 4 yet and probably won't in the cinema. But I did buy Raiders of the Lost Ark. Haven't viewed it yet though.

I'm glad Jarvis didn't end up being Starks Butler.

I was just pointing out the very funny comparison between someone saying that Iron Man is the best Marvel comics movie ever, despite a glaring flaw here or there, and that Spider-Man is dire because of genetic webbing.

I dont think that one particular thing or another is the cause about one movie is bad or good. I mean, the organics were a crappy idea, but there are tons of more factors being the cause because the spiderman movies sucked so bad.

Iron man was a far better movie not because one particular thing , because a lot of things.

By the way, i loved iron man , i think that it captured the spirit of the comic very well and the story and the characters were pretty good, except the weak end climax and some plot holes. I loved Downey jnr was Tony Stark, i think that he was almost as good as christopher reeve as superman and christian bale as batman, probably the two best comic chararacters performances.

In the other hand, Indiana Jones was a dissappointment. The original triology was pretty good, this one sucked and you couldnt feel the same tone of the other ones. Plus, the script was terrible and the performances weak, specially great actors like John hurt or Cate Blanchett.

That reason might be due to having seen one of their movies over the course of the last 10 years. And you can't forget the third pudgy finger in that cluster **** pie: George Lucas.

I'll not be seeing Indy4, as I truely enjoy the trilogy I have now, and in no way want to suffer the same abuse at the hands of Mr. Lucas I did with the Star Wars prequels.

I mean, anyone in their right mind should have checked that one off their list the moment you saw the horrendous over-use of cgi in the trailer. Or at least the minute you heard George Lucas tell you how great it was going to be.

Spoiler:
It starts with a CGI prairie dog

A ****ING CGI PRAIRIE DOG

Believe me, this was a real weak movie. It looked more a mummy sequel or a national treasure sequel than an Indiana Jones sequel.

I have a question. Since you can speak English, is there a way for you to watch it in English when you live in a non-English speaking country? Because I've seen english movies that were dubbed into other languages and the mis-match of the overlay to the mouth movement is distracting. I mean, if I could speak German very well, I'd want to watch a German movie in it's original language.
