Its that that accent is so COOL!!!

Hence the British accent.
Though I don't really recognize any accent in Vader at any time period.
He doesn't have ant distinctive American dialects, just the American version of proper English.
And he definitely doesn't have a British accent.
He just has that cool, synthesized voice.
