Where did you read that, a comic?There are large black holes in the center of galaxies, if that's what you mean, they do not eat the galaxies though. Also, not all black holes are the same size.

Superman represents the evolutionary potential of the Kryptonian race. The way in which Cap is a 'peak human'? Clark is a 'peak Kryptonian.'
Unless it was retconned somewhere *shrugs*.
Henshaw has such a mastery of Kal El's genetic code, he can give Superman's invulnerability to non-living objects.
Just explain why he wouldn't be/isn't physically as powerful as Superman. This is your chance to be reasonable.
Personally I don't know why he'd bother with the cybernetics if they didn't make him if not more powerful, at least equal.

Canon means it happened in the DC main universe, like Days of Future Past or AoA in the main Marvel Universe, but is still an alternate timeline. It's not a Eleseworld, but a direct alternate timeline from the main universe. It's not like JLA: Another Nail, which has no direct connection to the main DCU, but it's still an alternate reality hence where it is placed in the respect thread (alternate realities)
