I think Henshaw has never wanted it more than Superman.
Henshaw has never killed Superman and he has always wanted this to come to pass. I know he is the villain and wont be allowed to kill Supes permanently but he also lacks his feats and what not. I am going by feats here and Supes has done a lot more and to more powerful characters as well.

Superman's Desire to Live>Henshaw's Hatred for Superman

He doesn't have the feats? Of course not. He's not a feature character.

Who taught Henshaw to use power rings? Doesn't it take an atrocious amount of willpower to use them, and he just put some on and was usin' em. If the stakes were different, I think Henshaw would kill Superman.

But we're just speculating up in here.

I actually like Henshaw and would love to see him kill Superman. I just think Superman fares better against Darkseid. I think hes learned from his battles with Darky over the years while Henshaw still needs to get his ass kicked a few times to actually get the hang of fighting him.

Henshaw has actually recreated Superman's body in it's entirety before. 🙂

Thats very impressive. But it seems he still cant destroy Superman through all his efforts as he continually comes up short.

I know he can create Superman's whole body. His cybernetics must make him even more powerful than Kal El, otherwise why would he bother.

He's never wanted victory more than big blue; it's not like killing Superman would actually accomplish anything. Even when he thought he did, with the whole Superman Red thing, he felt empty.

Superman's Desire to Live > Henshaw's desire to kill him.

If the situations were different, Henshaw would 10/10 Superman.

Henshaw's always cared more about smearing his name in the mud than actually killing him. Even in Sinestro corps, Henshaw claimed that he didn't care about Superman anymore...that is...until Superman attacked him.

Deep down I believe he know's it's pointless, but he needs someone to blame for what happened.

He believes everything is pointless. At least he hasn't been featured as a character enough times to have a whole bunch of low showings.

I wonder what they will do with him next.

Losing to Superman is neither shameful nor really evidence of anything. Superman is like DC's ace on the hole/get out of the painted corner free card.

It apparently is when you're Darkseid and you're up against Thanos.

At this point it you're right about that. They left him with a great setup as a grandmaster, his own planet, and an army of manhunters. His new goal is to eliminate suffering by killing.

What is has actually taken to stop the guy the last few times is pretty amazing.

If you look at things, Superman has never been able to manhandle Eradicator like Henshaw has.

A friend and I have a theory that Henshaw has a particular disdain for Erads...

It's actually pretty funny that Steel was so confused during the reign of the supermen as to why the Cyborg and Superboy were having so much trouble with Eradicator.

Heh. The Cyborg Superman has been more durable than Superman since day one, it seems. He walked out of ground zero of Coast city unharmed. He talked trash WHILE getting omega beamed. While getting hit by a bloodlusted guardian's attack. While getting hit with the power cosmic during that crossover.

Hell, I'd probably be suicidal too if I knew for a freaking fact I couldn't die. He can only just barely be destroyed.

What issue did he bodyslam the crap out of a weakened Superman in? I want to see that.

If you think about it, in that time frame, Superman couldn't take the OE either. His arms were burning as a bystander to them. It's only after OWAW that we've seen Supes really become a peer to DS.

Currently, Henshaw is superior to Supes. Could Henshaws HV deflect the OE as Supes has? Possibly. Willhunters to mess with DS brain, Possibly. Straight beat down? Definitely.

Darkseid has his options as well, especially if written to full potential. This battle mostly revolves around the OE. Considering it took a full power blast on a weaker version of Borg, it would be an interesting battle.

How much willpower do you think Henshaw has? If Superman's heat vision could do it, could say a handful of power rings do it?

Which issue is this?

Good point.

I feel without the rings that Superman could beat Henshaw with his back up against the wall. Henshaw doesnt hold back while Superman does. If Supes found out he killed Louis Lane hed beat the crap out of Henshaw.

He'd be so blinded by rage I doubt he'd win against the very first Cyborg Superman.

Superman couldn't even beat Wonder Woman when he was bloodlusted.
