This atrocity was required to be half Spielberg, no mistake and it was lame writing that had Indy getting married, battling with and alternately helping the poorly scripted villians and dialogue and the trie, disposable plot/situations/traps I guess..

True, they are accomplices to the deed. No denying. But I did feel Darabont's script was a a lot better and Lucas was the only one who rejected that and wanted this.
