No.

The color of your lightsaber out of KOTOR does not canonically hold any relevance. It's just a game mechanic, really. As far as the movies and the rest of EU is concerned, colors don't really mean anything outside of Sith using red.

Mace uses purple and his skills leaning on the side of brute strength and skill=blue.

Obi wan certainly seems to be more of a consular type and his saber is blue. your saber doesnt dictate your style.

and consular/guardian/sentinel were only mentioned in kotor for gameplay mechanics.

Wow.

Way to reiterate what I just said. 😐

yes, but i elaborated and gave examples. you should thank me for my help.

No.

That's got to be one of the worst arguments I've ever read.

A consular type isn't the wise old man type thing. It's someone who specializes in using the force; and seeing as Obi-Wan's force techniques are average, his saber skills (aka ultimate Soresu mastery) is his best skill. Obi-Wan seems to be a Jedi Guardian, so this specific point is false.

But otherwise, you're right; the color isn't relevant. You could play KotOR and use a green lightsaber if you're a guardian, you know... it's just a matter of choice.

Yoda was considered to be probably the best duelist in the Jedi order; his lightsaber skills were hardly 'weak'.

1. cannonicity of the above is debatable.
2. you prove your point by knocking it down. Yarael poof is on the list of noteable jedi consulars and he uses a blue lightsaber.

the article explicitly states that yoda was a consular, nothing is knocked down

yes but the fact that yarael is a consular and uses a blue lightsaber prooves that colors dont really matter.

wookiepedia is not a cannon source.

the article sais that green is the USUAL COLOUR and that they can choose. furthermore it states yoda was a consular regardless of colour of blade

furthermore, wookiepedia is NON CANON! find me a canon source that says yoda is a consular, and im a believer.

if you read the article there is a cannon source in there

and why dont you consider it to be cannon?

its not cannon, because instead of answering your question, i could go change it to say that Yoda was a sith. That's why its non-cannon. I know you didn't, but i could argue you changed it to say he was a consular before ever telling us about it. That kind of source simply isn't reliable.

If i could say it better, i could.

For the same reason, you cannot consider wikipedia a valid source for school reports.

Based on the wookieepedia page it says that the source for labeling yoda as a consular is the power of the jedi sourcebook so someone can check it out if it is really all that important.

its not.

Wookieepedia is one of my favorite sites. However, if you would like to use it as canon, then I give you a quote from the Jedi Guardian page:

"The same can be said for Yoda in the opposite view. Although he was a Jedi Consular, he was one of the best lightsaber duelists of his time."

So if you would like to accept Wookieepedia as a canon source, then you must also accept the sentences that honor Yoda's swordfighting skill.
