I'm just genuinly curious. I thought all Jedi sparred on occasion.

I'm fairly certain that he did spar but very rarely.

17 years of rustiness vs 800 years of training does not equal consular.

I believe that was me and it was in the jedi vs sith guide by CIn Drallig(in 31BBY to give you a date when the entry was made so you can determine the time relation between the statement and Yoda facing facing Dooku in AOTC)
