Made to protect man....angels?

And it never went south. How did it go south?

Maybe, though no religion was implied, imo.

I recall her being angry at him/upset that he always seems to find her, been awhile since I watched it though.

If Hancock was white you wouldn't have said that!

Come on, Smith isn't all that black to begin with, he's no Samuel Jackson.

She was pissed because whenever they come together their lives are destroyed. The longer they stay around each other the weaker they both become and every time they get weak people come after them and Will nearly dies trying to save her and loses his memory. I think she showed all the scars he got saving her throughout history, Rome and the Salem witch trials and stuff.

That made to protect man crap was more Mary's personal opinion on the matter.
Explain?

Started out pretty good, then it failed in a big way. Kinda like I am Legend.

Explain?
It was Mary's justification of why Hancock, unlike the others of her race, is still alive, that he is the tool of the Gods, the one left behind to serve as the protector of man-kind.

It's her opinion.

Or maybe she just remembers where they come from, why they were made and who made them?

Speculation IMO, but not entirely impossible.

Well, she sounded as if she was recalling the past very vividly.
