He has no "crazy durability", not against bullets, at least - it's his suit that does. Against small gunfire. And even that varies a lot, since he keeps changing it. Make it totally bulletproof, that still offers no protection from someone like Creed, who slices through Techno-Organic metal or Thor-Ultron.
His most durable and the most powerful battlesuit ever (which is a thing of the past, but I guess it's the one you fell in love with, zop) still had obvious weak spots, such as his mouth. It was exploited twice.
It's a good match in the sense that both of them are written as physically superior to the heroes they're fighting.
Only Creed actually succeeded in becoming Logan's archnemesis, while Mac got fodderized and desperately changed his armor every day and twice on Sundays, hoping it'd make a difference.
