Saw the trailer today, got to say I'm impressed, now i hope Capcom/Marvel releases MVsC2 on XLA and PSN.

Also i hope Roll is not a playable character in this game.

Too bad she is. 🙁

I'm still hoping for Dante, Viewtiful Joe, Strider Hiryu, and Captain Commando. It would also be good to have some Power Stone characters but I don't think they would fit well in a game like this.

Gah why not Cutman, Gutsman or Elecman instead of Roll.

Well, I can think of some Power Stone characters that could be decent characters in this game.

Anyway, I would want Viewtiful Joe, Sexy Silvia, and Blademaster Alastor from the Viewtiful Joe franchise.

I still think it's kind of weird that a character from a show like Genie Hakushon (Hakushon Daimao) is in a fighting game like this. I mean, fighting against Street Fighter? Now that's just odd.

I came across this article.

😆 😆 😆

Is Ed serious man, this should have been placed in the SFIV Thread btw, however, who cares. Ed has lost his mind, because I would love to ask him how many MK games are still being competitively played in comparison to how many SF games that are still being played on the competitive lvl.

Look at the comparisons to which one is more loved world wide as well, and this pretty much tells you which one has garnered more respect within the gaming world.

As Ono said "Bring it On!" however we all know that deep down Ono was saying "SF:IV will C.mkXXShippu-Jinrai MKvsDC!"

I really don't see why it matters if a game is being played competitively or not.

Anyway, I read that a long time ago and...yeah, it should be under the SFIV thread or the MKvsDC thread.

If a game is being played competitively, that assures you that its made with the utmost quality and is fit for competition... its probably the highest compliment a game developer can get

...except for Sakurai... he's a whiny *****

Then I guess it's not the highest compliment for a game developer afterall.😂

There are certain tourneys where people simply don't want certain games at their tournament. With that being said, I don't think it matters whether a game is being played competitively or not.

It is, trust me... sakurai is the ONLY person who whined about his game being used for competetive play...

competitive play brings more people to that game, garnishes more praise for that game, and just proves that you've created a timeless game that can be enjoyed at all levels of play, even to the point where people can actually make a career by being pro from them

See : QuakeCon , Tougeki (aka The Arcadia Cup, Super Battle Opera) , World Cyber Games, Counterstrike Athletic League (CAL)(?) , Evolution, Etc.

basically, if a game is not being played competitively, its not worth being graced by the godliness that is the hardcore gaming elite (which are honestly the people that made gaming popular in the first place)... IMHO of course

To me, I really hate how games are so underrated for not being tournaments when in reality, they're not even given a chance.

I think EVO slacked off this year. I mean, no Virtua Fighter? No Guilty Gear? No SNK games? And finally, no Mortal Kombat? Stuff like this gets me about EVO everytime.

In case you all didn't see it, here's the newest trailer for this game.

YouTube video

Honestly, this game better make it to North America.

I just saw that a few days ago. Why did Tekkaman get the most beatings?! Darn it! 😠

Well, Doronjo has plenty of funny moves. She'll be my main character if this game makes it to North America.

Now, I should pick out a good partner for her...

I disagree on EVO slacking off, there was none of those games, because to be completely real...there is almost no competition for those here in the US. Don't remember Evo2k5, where they had like...all of them games...almost nobody showed up for DoA4...you had random people going in there and even placing well in it.

VF had almost nobody entering and qualifying for that infact it's only real tournaments are within Japan, outside of that, VF doesn't recieve alot of competitive gameplay, and GG is a niche community here in the US as well, as for the SNK games...USA simply loves SF too much to ever get into SNK (although it's a great series mind you), this is how it's been since the early 90's and this is how it's still is to the present day to the SNK Series, even though world-wide it's played heavily besides in the US.

Let's get real with Mortal Kombat, although UMK3 is regarded as the most polished MK game of all time, it was Mortal Kombat II that garnered the most love and competitive play. Besides that, I haven't seen MK on any high lvl tournament exhibition, not just Evo.

EVO actually for one year, or many tried numerous other fighting games, only to see a handful of players entering in them...and with them giving out thousands of dollars away...they where losing profit. Which is why you saw a bunch of fighting games being pulled out, and the simple reason is...not enough entries to compete in them.

Like I said...if you want a game to be competitive, prove, build a community and show that "insert game" is worthy of tournament play. Remember that in the early late to early 2000, Marvel vs. Capcom 2 did not get alot of love, however people kept pushing for it seeing that there's alot in the game...and now look at where it stands in the US.

Ed's comments is seriously out of whack because even high lvl MK players do not like the new MK games that have been made, I mean, that pretty much explains alot of things. Now, I'm not hating on DC vs MK, because that actually looks fun, however it's game mechanics will ultimately decide whether this game flops on the competitive lvl or, and you also have to remember, that MK has to rebuild years of lost confidence from it's fans as well.

Lastly, yeah, that trailer is pimp...I remember seeing another vid of an actual gameplay, however more recently and it looked incredibly good. The gameplay is as stated earlier reminscent of the VS series with Marvel, but for the moment, it doesn't seem as "fast" as the MvC2, however that remains to be seen yet. If there is any character with Tri-Jumps, expect to see some serious rush down.

Who the **** is the Block Robot thing ??

I don't know, but he's from the Capcom side.

Since Tatsunoko has a giant character in this game, it's only fair for Capcom to have a giant character, too.

You mean there was no love for DOA4? Shame, shame, shame.

Yeah, I heard that it was more popular in Japan but you see, this is what gets me here in the US; all people mostly see is SF.

Well they do have UMK3 at ECC. But the thing is, Evo won't even give it a chance. We know that Evo has a tendency to place and remove games from their tournaments, but they don't even do that for MK. Heck, they won't even put the early versions of MKvDC up there. Even though I did hear about MKD being up there but I'm not even sure if it really was.

That's understandable.

It's kind of crazy you gotta do all that just prove a game is competitive.😂

I think it will. Afterall, they said they're making it similar to the early MK games. And I think Ed was just doing some friendly trash-talking. I don't think there's any bad blood between him and Capcom. Just some friendly competition.

I really want to see Wang-Tang in the game but they would likely have Falcon in before any Power Stone character.

I rather play with Julia or Rouge instead of Falcon.

No, he meant the tall, grayish robot from the Capcom side.

Then what did he mean by "block" robot?
