The problem with these crossovers [and it pains me to say this because I enjoy them alot] is that they are completely random. There doesn't seem to be an attempt to bring groups that have some sort of common ground into crossovers. What I mean is that said companies usually have no connection or similarities with each other. It's like someone just randomly selected a companies name during a raffle and decided to pair up. In the long run you could just argue that seeing characters from different franchises is cool. But, I'd rather have a crossover like Capcom Vs. SNK where said companies have rivalries or some common history together than something completely random. These games are still fun, but intelligent decisions they are not. . .Can't wait for Mcdonalds vs Capcom.
I don't understand is how you don't think these wouldn't make any sense, because these cross overs are supposed to not have any common grounds whatsoever.
This is simply a way to attract people outside of the fighting game genre, and don't be surprised that their are now Tatsunoko fans are who psyched to be able to play Gotchaman up against Ryu, because it's a reality.
Pointless storyline, I won't lie about that, however from a gameplay stand point, which is the #1 most important piece of a fighting game, is what truly matters.
In most of the VS series, Capcom has made them fun...sure some where ridiculously broken..XvsSF, MvC2, the list goes on. However, Cross Overs where never, ever intended to be taken serious from a "storyline" point of view, or somewhere around those lines.
It's just the fun part of being able to pick Ryu vs Cyclops or Chunli vs Gotchaman that makes it entertaining, which is what TvC is all about.
I'm going to be looking forward to breaking this game down.
Also, that Marvel vs. Capcom 3 screen is mad fake, that thing was posted way back in like 2003, or 04, I forgot.
Ps: To whomever said Vader and Yoda would wipe out the whole SC cast for free...you've never really bothered to know how powerful some of the characters in SC truly are storyline-wise then.
Examples...Sophitia was chosen and given weapons from Gods...remember, Gods! Nightmare is so powerful, even his toned down version is powerful enough to wipe out armies with mere single blow swipes, someone like Inferno is practically nothing but Fire and Pure Energy.
I could go on, but Vader and Yoda definitely do not own the whole SC cast for free.

SC characters aren't powerful enough for it to really matter. 🙂

God is a title, nothing more nothing less. Kratos east gods for breakfast.
Anyway. Mace Windu, Yoda's inferior, snapped his fingers and crushed Greivous ribcage. Yods can do the same. QED. Vader looks at her and she levitates into the air and her air supply gets cut off. He can do this without even being in the same area. He could do it from miles away if he could sense her in the force. He did it to the poor Admiral in ESB. 🙁

Yoda destroyed hundreds of droids with the force. Mace destroyed an entire army using only his fists.
Yoda snaps his fingers and his neck snaps to the side.. Violently I might add.

Which is why Siegfried managed to defeat him with his regular old zweihänder.

Kratos is not in Star Wars, so as to how that has any relevance to your claim I am still waiting for. BTW, GODS>>>>Yoda and Vader, period. Sophitia is commanded by the Gods and wields a weapon and shield given to her from the Gods, as powerful as Yoda and Vader are...what manner of powers do they have that would rival a God's intervention?
I rest my case.

First and foremost, the Star Wars Movie Mace and Yoda...yes, are actually vastly inferior to their "Anime-Cartoon" Counterparts. I've actually seen this talked about on SW forums when concerning the Canon Storyline of SW.
"If" Mace was this superior, then a few of the Top-Tier SW characters would have easily wiped out the entire droid army by themselves, without the help of anyone.
However, the anime-cartoon versions contradict the SW movie versions, which might I add, the Movie Versions are the True Canon Versions.

Considering Nightmare has now manifested into his own being separate from Siegfried, a creature who wields the Soul Edge, a weapon derived completely from consuming countless souls through the eons giving him untold power. Yoda can't wipe out an entire army with one swing of his sword, Nightmare can.
So your underestimation of Nightmare clearly shows your lack of knowledge for the SC characters.

Siegfried wields SoulCalibur...remember, SOULCALIBUR, a weapon that is the direct Light version of the SoulEdge. These weapons power potential are vastly superior to anything seen that a LightSaber can do.
Nightmare has been seen channeling a powerful orb of energy that was cast out wiping out an entire army...can a LightSaber do this???
These are Weapons with untold power, Soul Edge has been alive for countless eons and has consumed who knows how many human souls, not to mention, when Nightmare wiped out this entire army, he did it with a Phantom Soul Edge, or a.k.a. a severely weakened Soul Edge, due to it not being fully completed.
However, enough of SW vs SC, if you want to debate that, put it in the VS threads and I'll jump on the board for it.
Back on topic, TvC looks pimp as heck, the gameplay so far, looks rock solid and seems to play with a Marvel vs Mentality, which I really enjoy.
I've noticed some new gameplay abilities not present in previous vs games, where I've seen Ryu do a Hadouken, dash, Hadouken hits, Ryu does a dash in combo, then switches out to Chunli only to have her begin her combo into a launcher which thus leads to an aerial juggle, that could potentially lead to a super combo.
All of these could potentially lead to some pretty crazy options for TvC, however as to "if" it'll be ranked amongst MvC2 for the magnitude of options will remain to be seen.
This game looks really, really good, looks like 2008 seems to be the year of the Fighters.

Unfortunately, there is no place on this forum where we can debate this. If I were to make a thread for it in either the Star Wars or Game vs. forum, it'd be closed.
Can't we just continue to spam this thread with increasingly aggressive arguments in an obnoxious manner until Lana yells at us?

oh god.. cap'n commando was so horrible... corridor was the only good thingI would like him in, but get rid of captain fire, and captain kick
The Captain Fire not only went all the way across the screen but it was fast and it had a decent priority. Now the Captain Kick did suck, I suppose it was meant to get across the screen fast while still airborne or at least that's what I use it for. The Captain Corridor...well you pretty much know how monstrously over powered that is and the moves that involve his teammates prove useful in many ways. I kick ass wit the Cap.

captain sword was an amazing super as well
Capt. Fire was decent, in that it could be used relatively well, Capt. Kick was almost completely pointless, however, Corridor was only good in a game like MvC1 only if it was linked into a combo, and in MvC2, that was the legitimate reason why Commando is even in the Top-Tier Assist List, simply because this move is so beastly.
It comes out instantly, nearly stops every other assist in their tracks, it does insane damage+it went completely vertical beyond the screen, making it's uses extremely effective.
Commando suffered greatly in that, he was very slow overall in speed and recovery, which didn't help him a whole lot. You really had to utilize all of his gimmicks in order for him to be decent. In MvC1, he's not even that good, and in MvC2, by himself at point, he completely blows, you've pretty much lost especially if your up against a team like MSP, or Santhrax fully, intact, however in fact against any of the Big 4 solo vs Commando by himself is ggpo, however only as an AAA on a team like Santhrax for example is Commando truly a wrecking house, however again, only as an assist though.
Either or, I wouldn't mind him in this game, since his character was built in these types of vs games anyhow, so the transition would actually be very easy for Capcom. Not to mention, they could actually modify his attacks, so that he's better then the MvC1/2 counterparts that we saw of him as well, for more improvement.
I would love to see Zero in this game, because although Megaman has always been a better character in their games, Zero would fit far better in these games then Megaman from a gameplay standpoint imo, simply because he has a rushdown type gameplan, and that works wonders in VS games such as these.
Ryu has his 3S like poke that seems very strong, even safe on block so far. His Shinkuu-Hadouken doesn't do insane damage, but it does good damage, but more importantly, it's really safe on block, and Ryu's got good aerial coverage with his Hurricane Kick as well.
I didn't test it out, but someone told me that Ryu has his resets, are these resets like his XvsSF Ryu, and if it is in similar fashion to XvsSF Ryu, hahahaha, watch out folks, this can be a very good Ryu indeed.
Chunli looks really strong in here as well, however again, this is very new, so it's only for right now, don't hold this like the gospel truth, things can change on a whim, however as of now, Ryu looks good so far.
2008, the Year of Fighting Games.
It just seemed that Ryu was faster that usual even in a VS games. And I'm pretty sure I'm right about this but Ryu really didn't have a good combo/air combo game in the VS series, but in the clips I seen some guy was doin hella combos wit'im. But I guess the opportunity for him to be top tier would be vast...there are only like 10 characters in the game.

Seriously, I would love to wreak havoc with Sexy Silvia, Julia, or Rouge.
Also, I'm pretty sure that someone from the Megaman franchise will be in this game since I saw some Servbots in the background of one of the stages.
