Proving that something isn't has to do the person saying it isn't canon. And that was no clone SG defeated, oh yeah canon.
I don't believe it's canon and a interview with the writer afterwards made that clear.
On this battle... I belive Odin takes a hard worked majority 7/10 imo. Odin is the pinnacle of skyfathers imo and Thanos isn't at that level. He has gotten one upgrade and the Tyrant one.. that was more a upgrade up knowledge more than power imo. Point is the upgrade in The End and their first battle leads me to believe it will be closer and a good struggle with Odin coming out on top in the end.

^ It was published in a Great Lakes Avengers comic.

^ My point is, it's canon and in-continuity. Joke character notwithstanding, it doesn't make it any less canon or not in continuity. You want to argue it doesn't apply, prove it isn't canon rather than just declaring it isn't.

Post the interview quan as I've seen it before and I've seen you post it. The guys says something to the effect..... Thanos clones can even fool a watcher sometimes... Something like that.
Originally posted by KuRuPT ThanosiI don't recall ever posting the interview myself. A Thanos clone has basically fooled Death before in the celestial quest so in direct comparison a watcher could definitely be fooled.

Problem is the on panel statements by Odin go directly against that fact. He was trying to put Thanos down at the least and even said kill him (more than just putting down) This is undisputable. Yet, he failed to do so. He was clearly pissed and clearly putting forth a good amount of effort and couldn't get the job done. Why you say.. well lets look at Odin's words… "I haven't fought someone like you in EONS.. EONS" That is all the proof we need that Odin didn't view this as a shit stomping and considered Thanos a worth adversary. Saying otherwise is goes against the facts. Odin being impressed that Thanos draws on a near infinite power source much like himself. More praise which goes along with Odin words about being impressed with Thanos. He pulled out Gugnir… why did he need to do so if he gives him no edge, power or advantage. That is COMPLETELY illogical and unsound reasoning. Clearly it helps him, and clearly he felt this would finally get the job done. Thanos (machismo) took over and he decides to walk right through a prolonged Odin blast to prove himself. He didn't need to do so but did. I feel that was more about Thanos proving himself to Odin then really fighting smart. The point is, that didn't even get the job done. Clearly Odin didn't feel it was a shit stomp and Thanos was a worthy foe. Saying otherwise goes against on panel evidence and Odin's own words. Thanos wasn't going all out and neither was Odin. To me it was more of a pissing contest by both with Odin having the bigger and longer stream.
^ Thanos was oging all-out. Odin wasn't. And Thanos is probably still picking the rubble out of his teeth. Even Thanos-clones know Thanos was defeated.
Originally posted by quanchi112It is recognized by Marvel. You declaring it isn't recognized means two things: Jack and shit. And yes, Jack's still out of town. Thanos' machinations backfiring on him and all his lofty aspirations crashing around him is pretty much Thanos' character.

Except we'd seen him grow past the point of lusting for external power. If you want to believe marvel recognizes the showing for Thanos you are free to do so. You might also still believe in the tooth fairy though which again is your business.
