Is it possible that some who become addicted to porn to develop psychological problems and end up doing something like rape or child molestation?
There's some pretty freaky porn out there...Is it really that much of a reach for someone to go from beating off to child porn to molesting children?
I really don't understand that...so my logic may be rediculously flawed on this.

Seriously, I have usually only seen her posts in the GDF. Her posts, that I have seen in the religion forum, are always mystical and playful...maybe I'm not the only one who thought that about her????

I've always felt that the opposite of what you're saying is more accurate. I think it's been brought up in this thread that Japan produces some of the greatest amounts and varieties of violent pornography in the world but has one of the lowest rates of rape.

I suppose that is possibly, I would say it is far from common. And, the other way is obviously also a possibility.

If that is the case, other than religious reasons, what reason do they have to oppose? I like having religious beliefs that have real world application. In other words, its not in vain. Being a good father, not doing drugs, etc...those are good religious beliefs to have because they are quantifiable/measurable and have a positive impact.
There's got to be data on this...especially from the justice system in the US...knowing Americans and the bible belt.

Probably true, as I don't think a normal/non-violent guy watching fake-rape porn would become a rapist because of it, but did you factor in that rape is rarely reported in Japan out of shame.

Maybe the porn doesn't lead to the molestation/rapes...maybe they are hand in hand with the crime. I dunno. I'd like some data on it so I can form a better opinion or get a better idea of the potential negative effects of pornography. (Preferably as objective as possible....I'd be skeptical if the study was done by a church or something.)

I'd be very hard to prove that the child porn leads to the child molestation. It's more likely that they had the child porn because they were already child molesters, at least in mind, if not action. That is a guess though.
But logic would dictate that child molesters existed before child porn.
