Agreed. All Master Po really did was remind him that "hey, you got skills dammit! use em. Oh, and don't take punishment for no good reason other than you can".

I hope that in the future, other writers key in to this new direction. It's what's best for the character and for Marvel.

Wolverine (finally! The Revamped Respect Thread!)

Does anybody here have comic scans of Wolverine, Vol. 2 #32 (Oct. 1990)? I would like to see how Wolverine deals with sword-wielding Yakuza mobsters in that issue.

Blade basically equates Wolverine's speed to be much faster than a human, and suggests he's faster than vampires as well:

Just wanted to point out that isn't Blade saying that. It's one of Blade's human sidekicks that just kicked Logan's @ss. 😬

Relax. Just pointing out an error. Starting to wonder if jinzin actually read the issue is all.

No big deal.

I am having the same feeling about you thats the third time you said a line like that which vastly is different then what occured.......and it happen off pannel........

I am completely fine, but if your gunna try and call others out I will do the same to you

To be fair, Blade recalls the narrative about Logan's speed right before Logan saves him from the vampire, and while we don't see Logan display any speed its possible that Blade did (ie it happened off panel). After all Logan was down the street when Blade was pinned to the wall, and he did get over to him pretty quickly I guess.

Sigh....

Oh hi Snoop. Wonderful of you to join us her in the Wolverine Respect Thread to make more baseless and inaccurate claims...

And again with this notion that I haven't read the issue.... Oh wait, no, last time it was that I didn't own it right? Which is funny considering that I was one of the first posters to scan that fight for the boards.. which... how does that work again?

So here we are once again, and I'm going to have to explain to you how the sky IS indeed blue all over again aren't I?

Yeah actually, Hector took a beating from Logan after getting the drop on him. Sure he said that he stabbed him on the street and slit his throat, but given Logan's capabilities, fight record, and the fact that Hector was beat down when he tried to jump Logan, something tells me that Hector probably attacked Logan who stopped fighting or something along those lines or... he lied about that part.... of course your interpretation = "He kicked Logans ass" even though we don't see one once of context. Sweet. 😐

And then the scan......

Hector tells Blade all he could about Wolverine.
When Blade sees Wolverine his thoughts are a direct defferment to Hector's discription... Cowboy hat, trenchcoat, badass. After seeing Wolverine's perfomance in action he again deffers to Hecs statements about Wolverine's speed being > Vampire's.
Blade was riederating what Hector told him in his head, ergo it's what he was THINKING. 😐
And who would argue with him after Wolverine had just covered a distance of 20 or 30 feet across a city street to stop a vamp from attacking a downed Blade who was 5 feet away and then effortlessly pinned the vamp to a wall before the creature could even begin a defense.
I suppose you could argue that it wasn't really Blade's thoughts, but some impartial narrative perspective riederating the point... but that doesn't bode well for your rationale given that it takes an observation and leans it more towards fact at that point.

Now I know you would be much more pleased if this wasn't the case because if it is, then how could your Vampire>Human argument have any merit right?
Especially in a comic where Wolverine's pre-weapon X and effortlessly saving a Blade who according to the same writer in the same issue is no more empowered now than he was then from a vampire who was kicking his ass.

Unless of course that argument has no merit. 😉

Nice attempt at discrediting Logan (and me for that matter) from something that happened on panel anyways though. Better luck next time?

Edit.

Due to respect.

Does anyone have the scans from Daredevil vol. 2 #54?

In that issue Logan fights Echo. Nerve strikes had no effect on Logan, they just made him angry. I'd really appreciate if someone could post that fight.

It's shit like this that make Logan look like a bad fighter - nerve strikes sure did a number on him during his practice fight with Shingen why not here? It's just stupid. This version of Wolverine is the one that people tend to hate because he relies on cheapness instead of skill. Just gay. Hopefully Aaron's work can at least somewhat reverse this.

Why not here? The answer is simple.

Well, the adamantium was reintroduced to his body though...would that not slow it down again? It certainly should have....although I think it's pretty clear that it wasn't as strong before the adamantium was first put in as opposed to after the first time it was removed. So you may have a good point there...this may actually explain why Wolverine's healing is so insane these days compared to the 80's - that is he kept some of his further mutation after the adamantium was ripped out - or could it be that having the adamantium ripped out actually caused the healing factor to heal itself and hence become stronger? That's certainly possible...

I feel retarded for not seeing this earlier..

Didn't Elektra demonstrate that nerve attacks work on Wolverine during the Enemy of the State run?

It's not that nerve strikes don't work, it's that they don't work for long, as Wolverine's healing factor compensates for them before they can have much effect. The reason that Elektra's nerve attacks worked, was that she stuck her sais into the nerve points, and left them there. This prevented his healing factor from healing the damage, and left him feeling the effects, until the sais were removed. Once they were removed, however, he regained control immediately, proving the limited effect Elektra would have had, had she merely poked those points with her fingers.

Anyone have the Echo fight?

Here's the fight between Echo and Wolverine:
