Wolverine (finally! The Revamped Respect Thread!)

easily a bad showing for Thor. Wolvie = Marvel's baby.

But if this were Blade vs. Wolverine or Punisher vs. Spider-Man.... 😖hifty:

Dude, Thor mentioned twice that Wolverine dodged his "fiercest" and "finest" blows. He may not have gone all-out and god-blasted him, but he was definitely going for a knockout.

not at all, when thor did hit wolverine, it barely did anything. Thor has put people into the atmosphere with his fiercest blows and downed Bor and Red Hulk.

The one w/Wolvie being teleported out of the webbing proves that there's a conspiracy @Marvel to do whatever it takes to keep Spidey from kicking Wolvie's ass! 😂

Nice thread, Jinz. I'm far too lazy to ever do a thread this good.

So... it seems like jinzin and I where right - as per usual - when we said Wolverine was faster than Thor. Shocking.

But have heart Thor fans! I mean... a thorough side by side comparison of Wolverine and Thor's best speed feats didn't do anything in the past to dispel your delusions, why should this been any different? After all its just more piece of on panel evidence to ignore, and really what is one more example when Wolverine is concerned? I mean, most of you are ignoring anything that doesn't have Punisher hitting him in the nuts with a baseball bat already. Keep on, keeping on I say. What a relief! Thor doesn't need have speed feats to be fast, you only need to believe hard enough. Hurray!

Wolverine sucks. Thor is teh strongz. He can lift my mom's car. Awesome. 😱

Psylocke 01

Wolverine ninja' vanishes from Psylocke, while inside the cockpit of the Blackbird, without her noticing. Presumably he also makes it off the Blackbird without being seen by the Japanese military who are surrounding it.

And yet his "fiercest blows" didn't knock either Bor or Red Hulk into the stratosphere (fyi every blow on earth knocks someone into the atmosphere... because they where in the atmosphere to begin with with), and relative the Thor's strength there is virtually no difference between the weight of Wolverine and Bor / Red Hulk. Being immensely strong doesn't give you some magical gravity tether.

his fiercest blow sent wolverine a couple of meters away, even red hulk flailing knocked wolverine several miles away, there is not a chance that wolverine was receiving thors mightiest hits, not even an argument.

Red Hulk grabbed Wolverine and actually threw him, champ. It's not like he hit Wolverine with a flailing arm and knocked him away, like you seem to think...

go to the wolverine vs. thor thread to continue this further, i dont believe this fight is even usable as evidence though.

your example of his fiercest blows no sending bor/rulk, into orbit are more examples o fPIS, same reason supermans punches don't crack planets every time he hits someone although he may state he's going all out.

Exactly the point. Every fight involving every comic strong man, in the history of comic books should logically end after one punch. There is no relationship between super strength and the weight of a character, Superman, Thor and Hulk all weight in at relatively human levels (relative to their strength of course), one punch from anyone in their strength class would knock them clear into orbit and end the fight by BFR... or have them scouring the earth to find the person who they where fighting which would be no small task in and of its self. Even Spider-man is strong enough to knock the Hulk a few blocks away with a hay-maker. There is no correlation between the strength behind a punch and the distance a character is knocked back in a comic book.

maybe not in a comic fight, but in a forum fight entirely, if a character is going all out and throwing their strongest punches it should send an opponent flying.

Jinzin Thor was clearly holding back and didn't want to damage Wolverine badly. You need to read it again properly. facepalm

Anyway this is a respect thread so thats all im going to say.

You realize that Tieri said in the interview that it was Wolverine's stealth and speed vs. Thor's strength and power? You fail, like usual.

Downed Rulk? I thought it was lightning that almost did that.

Wolverine v3 #46

The legendary level 9 psi-shields.

Giant-Size Avengers Special #1 (repost)

Here they are mentioned again by a different writer.

unless of course, the trajectory of that blow sent Logan into the ground...which it clearly did. Just like when Hulk punches Logan for only a few meters because there are trees, rocks in the way etc....

Now, if both characters were written up to par, Logan dodges Thor's best and his lightning leaving Thor with the option of either a stalemate or a loss in melee combat. Logan only got tagged by Thor because Logan didn't realise that it wasn't Creed he was sticking his claws into - if he knew this was Thor and was smart, he would just continue to dance around and slash key areas...the eyes, throat, etc. One wonders why he didn't do that here...I guess the writer didn't want Thor to be blind and crippled with the chance of death. He was downplaying Logan's abilities - overall, it was an average showing for Logan, not nearly his best. At his best, he dodges Thor day and night whilst landing slices that do immediate damage to the eyes, groin, throat etc. Thor dies in melee combat and has to resort to lightning every time...which Logan dodges if not for the fact that he has a minor head buzz from taking Thors best right to the face...

I mean talk about PIS - Thor knowing Logan's up in the tree? I mean, we're talking about a guy who was able to set himself up on DD's chest while DD was sleeping...with an army of dead ninja's at his side. No way he can't sneak up on Thor.

some of these dont work can they be redone? 😮
its from page: 2 namor fight

In their second encounter, a mind controlled Wolverine fights Namor to a virtual stalemate before the tussle is interrupted:

Next time just remember to copy the links right (via quote function). No need for more broken ones that there really are.

Anyhow, I reuploaded them all. Just in case. There you go:

(...) but Namor's pride is not so great that I believe I could have defeated Wolverine if he was any more than your puppet.

A priceless statement 😄
