I donated once when I was like thirteen. I didn't like the feeling and I got a little dizzy. I don't think I want to do it anymore.
You have to make sure you eat and drink something before giving blood as losing that amount of blood will make you dizzy, which is why they usually let you rest for a little bit afterwards then give you biscuits and refreshments.
but you shouldn't let that put you off doing it again.

My kids can never donate blood because their dad was stationed in Germany during the 1980's when he was in the Army.I can't give blood for 3 more months because I have had a piercing, you cant give blood for 6 months after receiving a tattoo or piercing.
Oh really? I didn't realise that would affect your kids giving blood.. why is that?

My best friend will be coming back from his round the world trip this week, we'll be both donating blood on his return. We've both been meaning to for a while, but didn't.
He might not be able to depending on where he's been.
If you've visited certain countries and for certain lengths of time you can't donate.
But they'll ask him about it and tell him there.

Yeah, he may not be able to, but I will still donate. He's so passionate about it, due to his dad dying recently, so he'll definitely donate too.

Yeah, I'm pretty terrified of needles as well. But I suppose I've had plenty of vaccinations for travelling etc in the past, it's just seeing the blood that frightens me.
I don't really have any problem with blood. Just the needles themselves. My brother's diabetic and I have to leave the room when he's got to take his insulin. And there's nothing like having to get an injection that feels like you're being stabbed straight through your hand when you're already in an insane amount of pain...

You live in the same country I do, there are numerous chances to. Basically, walk into your local health centre/clinic or hospital.
yeah you can search for places nearby here:
and it will tell you places and times..
