Superheroes, a genetic possibility?

Superhumans

"The Hoekstras quickly began to notice Liam being able to do things out of the ordinary. Two days after birth, he was able to fully stand-up and support his own weight, given someone held his hands. Months later he began developing ripped abs, naturally doing pull-ups, inverted sit-ups, Olympic styled iron cross, thigh muscles compared to that of Lance Armstrong and even punching holes into walls during tantrums (accidentally gave his Mom a black eye once as well).

What really amazed his family was what happened whenever he fell.

“When he fell backward, he would land on his butt, but he never hit his head on the ground,” , his adoptive mother, Dana Hoekstra said. “His stomach would tense up and he would catch himself before his head hit the ground. You could see his stomach muscles. He had a little six-pack,” said Dana, in an interview.

After further investigation into Liam’s ability, doctor’s found he was genetically unique as he has a condition called myostatin-related muscle hypertrophy.

In Liam’s case, his body’s muscles reject myostatin, allowing them to undergo quick growth and repair."-end snip

It's being researched as a cure for people who suffer from muscular defects/problems, it could also potentially be used to make people "double-muscled" and it would be difficult to detect in athletes.

Nice.

Here's another kid with it, he's even one of your own.

Well, by all accounts the kid does indeed seem to be super human.

I'm too lazy to find out for myself, so I'll just ask.

Is there any side effectts of this condition? Shortened life-spans, mutating into big orange monsters, etc?

I want this condition.

It's not certain, low body fat in babies can slow learning and brain developement though.

The dog(s) that has it, is said to have a shorter lifespan, but that may not translate to humans.

They're beings of genetic stability and evolutionary perfection.

My comment wasn't intended to be an indepth study into the works. Just a simple note that the possiblity of highly genetic people have been with us for quite a while.

See, that you you've explained it a bit, it relates somewhat. Lance Armstrong's heart being an example of being genetically superior.

Which is an even better reason for them to have an arch enemy, aka me! Now all I need to do is wait twenty years, and when he becomes a superhero, I'm going to have all sorts of henchmen and evil schemes, most in plans to steal his great power and use it for evil!

The Liams will one day take over the world😄

Considering their most powerful members are not powered by anything inherent to them and even then get stalemated by mortals I am forced to question the basis of that assertion.

I vote we breed the kid and sell his children for cheap labor. He'll be like a Mexican, except he'll be good at things.
