I'll agree with FFXI having awesome memories of gameplay. Loved that game to death.

75 paladin 75 red mage 75 samurai 75 monk 😄

Paladin was by far the best. Koenig armor baby.

As for dragon age, I just got this game in from netflix since I hear a lot of good things about it. Any suggestions on my first go around that you wish someone would have told you?

Yes. You can't have sex with both morrigan and leliana more than once...before further attempts will cause them to confront you and force a decision and decide.

You can trick Leliana 1 time..then, the next time, she will say that you thought she was stupid and tells you to cut it off with morrigan or cut it off with her.

Morrigan does it a little more matter-of-factly saying that she does not want to be mixed up with you while you are mixed up with another. I tried EVERY possability on the conversation tree, and I was maxed out on persuasion and had high cunning, but there was no persuasion entries that would make it work to where I could get a threesome going.

On that note, make sure you have high persuasion, as you'll miss out on some really good conversation options on about 5-10 different conversations.

Also, I think building potions is stupid. I never really used it that much. Making trraps, potions, poisons, etc. I never really did that. I found it stupid. I'd rather find them, which I did uhplenty in the game. That's why I didn't see the need to really make anything.

Oh, also, make sure you buy that Gray Warden's keep expansion so you can store shit loads of items in that chest, after you complete the quest. Seriously, that will save you TONS of space. I don't sell the unique weapons.

I would have liked.

Those tips should help your game be more enjoyable and less frustrating. Other than those things, you should find out everything else on your own and only ask us if you want it to be spoiled. I tried not to ask about the main plot or read about it until I finished the game, that way, I could enjoy it as much as possible.

And, you guys get that FF shit outta dis thread! 😆

So I started this game a couple of days ago, and I still have trouble choosing what to play. I first made a City Elf rogue, but by the time the prologue was done, I really didn't care for my character. Now I am going through all the prologues to see which I prefer the most, so far the Mage got my attention.

Stick with Mage.

Best by far.

Been playing that for 2 days and I must say I do enjoy it, I haven't played an RPG in a while and this one is decently executed to my taste. I have been playing it on the XBox 360 and it is the first Standard RPG I have played on a console and it's not bad really. I assume it would be better on the PC. It really seems like a sort of mix of BioWare's previous titles in particular Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights and KOTOR, but I enjoyed all those so I didn't mind that that much. All in all good game so far.

I do enjoy playing a Fantasy Jedi, may the maker be with me and such.

Well my firts wish was to not be a magic damagedealer. I've played WoW as a Warlock for god knows how many hours, and not to talk about KotOR etc where we have classes that resemble a magician. But it seems I am once again drawn back to the magician...

Also, does a downed partymember get the exp from kills done after he's down?

I was under the impression that it is not the party as a whole getting xp but the one doing killing. Which seemed weird, perhaps I am wrong, but the XP always shows up on different characters and the people seem to level up at different times. Anyone know whether I am completely wrong about this or what's up with it?

As for leveling different times, the character joined your party at a different time and most likely at a different XP point.

Yes, that's not the difference I am talking about...I do realize that, but I think that one time my main character leveled up first and then another time another character was first which implied the rate was changing, it also seemed like the ones left behind leveled up slower. Like I said I might be totally wrong, but it seemed to me that there's some xp that is specific to a character and some that is for the whole group. Although there are other explanations possible.

Ahh, I see.

I have no clue then.

Maybe they just get levels and not experience. I have not thought about that at all.

Inactive party members level up with the rest of the party, sort of.

They level up at the lowest level is in your active party or something like that.

It's not like Marvel Allience where they just level at a slower rate, there's is a floor limit to how low it will let the inactive party members go.

I did, however, notice that all party members were within 1 or 2 levels of each other, at all times. (It doesn't auto level, but, say, your active party levesl up 4 times before you go back to camp. Then, when you get back to camp all party members that weren't with you will be whatever level your lowest party member is...but possibly minus 1 level, at times.)

As for downed party members? No, they do not get XP. I think the worst I got it was a 2 level difference between the main character and one of my inactive players (after I leveled them up for all available levels, back at camp.)

Anybody heard about the new expansion? It takes place after DAO and you can either import your character or start a new grey warden from orlais.

Yeah, we talked about that earlier in this thread. I'm looking forward to it.

No I think they do get experience points. I was just playing yesterday, I managed to let my main die during combat, and while my other characters were fighting off the last mobs, my downed main suddenly leveled up. Which would indicate that it did get experience points when downed.

Right now alistair is pissing me off, can anyone tell me whether or not it is possible to get Shale as a companion without Alistair disapproving -7?

Probably not.

But at first, I really cared about the approval ratings but its extremely easy to get them to like you. I had all my main characters at 100 percent, and the rest in the 50's. You just keep on giving them gifts.

I don't know if it will work with you but heres what i did.

When shale asks me to command "it" to move, i replied with "fine, attack alistair" and i got a -1 dissaproval.

No return to Ostagar
