Star Wars: The Old Republic [KOTOR MMO]

Yeah, sorry. 128mb video memory is below minimum specs for the game.

Anybody still playing this? Literally just about to start it myself, really looking forward to it! 😄

Marvenn - Male Human Jedi Knight - Prophecy of the Five btw.

Question: is the guy who voices the Jedi Knight David Hayter?

Yes.

lol, thought so. I remembered that he voiced one of the characters in the game and I slightly recognised his voice in this.

Kinda weird though, it's like I'm listening to Snake from another room or something, almost as if they told him to tone down his voice completely. Sounds like the voice actor, only a lot milder and less pronounced. I;m guessing they didn't want him to sound like Snake.

I still play it; I have eight characters on the Jedi Covenenant server.

Only been playing for two days now, but already, all I have to say is: BEST. MMORPG. EVER! The game is like a really long Bioware RPG that's also multiplayer and just really, really long. Having one of those group multi player conversations is one of the coolest thigns ive ever seen in a game.

Come to Prophecy of the Five. 😄

Well, was forced to transfer servers and in the debacle, had to change passwords twice and do some maneuvering to get the launcher to accept my log in, then I had to look high and low for how to disband my own guild as everyone else had already moved servers. Then once I moved servers I found most of the names I had were taken, and it took near an hour to find half-assed replacements.

All in all, a bad experience on my part. I don't feel as inclined to re-up once I do have the time to game because of this.

I cancelled my subscription today.

Technically, I subscribed for three months and let it run dry. Just taking advantage of the free play for the next four days. I don't mind the gameplay at all. And I have friends who still play it. But the server change was pretty miserable. Now I'm on a high population server where all but one name I had chosen was taken, including my legacy name. FFS.

I still have 24 days left. But since I can't play even though I want to, whats the point.

I'm super pissed. I really wanted to play through the classes. Youtubing Lets Plays just won't be the same. 🙁

But I did hear that Swtor is being called Swtanic, which made me laugh.

Lots of rumours lately that I didn't want to post on until confirmed- well, confirmation is in:

A. Subscription numbers continue to race down
http://uk.ign.com/articles/2012/07/31/the-old-republic-subscriptions-dip-below-1-million

B. Going free-to-play. And soon!

Well yeah, that's what you get for not adding enough content... At least with free to play, their numbers will increase again, if even for a short time.

It's a crappy restricted F2P though, so I am not interested.

I was surprised by them restricting PVP, but otherwise, I wouldn't say it's terrible. Even new content will probably just get a delayed release.

That is to say, if they keep this model and don't change it sooner rather than later.

It has the big cardinal sin of server access priority being less for f2p players- I loathe that in any system.

I also greatly dislike the restrictions on character creation and travel.

Then stuff like limiting flashpoints per week... geez.

Yeah, it's poor. Hopefully it does indeed change over time. This game will freefall if it is not careful.

...ewwww.

Going f2p is not a surprise at all, but good lord those restrictions they're putting on free players - why even bother playing if you're restricted with the already anemic character creation and don't have access to half the content?

I only play the Story Missions anyway so no skin off my teeth. I may reactivate my account if I feel my laptop can take it or if I get desperate.

I'm not sure though. Even Skyrim is causing crashes nowadays.

So, got to work today and saw TOR was reduced in price to $15.

I laughed, and laughed some more, and then bought it.

I figure I can get $15 (well, $12.74, really, for me) worth of fun out of it. And it's something to do to kill time until GW2 comes out. So, win!
