In theory you could harvest Hawking radiation from a black hole or feed it stuff and used the radiant X-rays and heat for power. Sure, everyone would be in terrible terrible danger, but you could still do it.

It is true that large black holes are commonly formed by the collapse of big, dense stars but the star's ability to produce energy is irrelevant. Microblack holes require large amounts of energy but hardly the energy of a star.
