Looks like I'll be picking up an issue of Nintendo Power.

A sword? What happened to the days when Sonic was based on speed?

It does however intrigue me...

This may have potential, but it will probably not be any good, since, you know there hasn't been a really good sonic game since Sonic Adventure.

I think Sonic needs to pull a Megaman and revert back to it's old days, it would sell, alot.

Sonic needs to go the way of Sonic Rush Adventure, the thing with that game is he turns into a Were-Hog at night and kotaku states that the werehog sonic is slow, stretchy and melee combat based...

if Sonic Unleashed or this black knight game doesnt work then i say that they should bring sonic back to the old tried, tested and true formula that made Sonic popular in the first place, or sell the rights to a new developer

Sonic Team has a new team leader and Sonic Unleashed is the first game he's (Takeshi Sakakibara) was in charge in so I'm going to hold my judgment till the game is released and as for the Sonic Unleashed Wii version it is being created by Dimps (the same people who did Sonic Rush and Sonic Rush Adventure) so already that version sounds better.

As for Sonic and the Black Night...well...at least they ain't giving Sonic guns.

Oh and for Unleashed; Sonic Team has said that Sonic is the only playable character in the main game (Unleashed will have minigames like Secret Rings).

I'm thinking, almost hoping, that black knight is the indirect sequel to Secret Rings. I don't think they want another Unleashed style sonic game to be released so soon. It could very well be a Console RPG, but I'm hoping for a sonic-style high speed hack and slash.

Transporting Sonic back to an Arthurian medieval world, it arms Sonic with a sword to tackle his foes. and now we know. Actually, I was hoping for the next story to be Gulliver Travels. I guess we'll see the return of Darkspine. Hopefully they'll be more cutscenes and a better theme. Seven Rings in Hand sucks hard.

The way I see it, it's either Darkspine or a brand new incarnation (armored sonic?). I'm almost certain they want to stray away from Super Sonic in the "story book" series

How about and this may sound crazy...no transformation for once.

Dashing idea ol'bean, but I wouldn't think Sega would do that, but after learning that you can play as Knuckles or Shadow as well, and the fact that Knuckles hasn't gone Super/Hyper on his own in forever, you may indeed be right.
