Spider-Man 3 sucked ass. That's why nobody's very excited about Spider-Man 4, at least from what I've seen.
The hype will build soon anyway, because it's now pretty much official that there'll be a couple more films. I'm pretty sure there was doubt that there would be a SM4 'til recently. Yes, I know Batman 3 hasn't been confirmed, but everyone and their dog knows it's gonna happen.

Yeah, but there's a very vast difference between a sequel to the Dark Knight (superb movie) and a sequel to Spider-Man 3 (a 'meh' movie, at best). Spider-Man 3 didn't leave any taste for more, nor did it end in some sort of epic cliffhanger; TDK ended with a sort of cliffhanger, and left viewers eager to see another Batman movie- even if all know that Batman 3 will not be as good as The Dark Knight.
I WILL watch Spider-Man 4, though. 'Cuz I'm a sucker.

"Cough" novels "cough"
How many novels are there that haven't already been made into films though? And the novels just don't have the same type of following that Batman comics have anyway. Here is another way of looking at it: How many Batman bad guys that haven't been used in the series can you name vs Bond bad guys that haven't been used yet.

Or, perhaps, simply a masochist...

Nonsense. Lots of people love Bond novels- just not the same people who read comics, I imagine. And while there aren't as many Bond villains, I'm sure there are just as many with any chance of appearing. Can you really imagine the Penny Plunderer appearing in a Batman film?

So all of Fleming's have been made into films? I suppose we might see a little creativity from the film-makers from now on. How remarkable!
Don't know if it's true or not. Just posting it.
