I had no idea they were trying to make a movie series. 😆

Yeah. Typo. I fail. etc.

Yeah heard somewhere back in March they were going to make a series but based more on the actual book, but apparently it is coming from one of the producers of the new Bionic Woman series that came out a while back and the Battlestar Galactica series, and he is writing the pilot script.

I haven't read the book, so have no idea how close the film was and what changes that means for the actual series.

I don't get that rationale; saying a man should win an Oscar for a movie that maybe doesn't deserve it, simply because one that did, didn't get it.

There isn't one really . 😄 Although, there were far more that did deserve one in his biography.
Just felt bad for the guy not having ever gotten an Oscar for his directing, which I obviously think is pretty good. No rationale, just sympathy.
And I do agree btw; I think 'The Departed' is over-rated. Good movie... but not up there.

chillmeistergen : Hell NO that isn't a ranked list! shocking

SnakeEyes : I'm sure they are. I said I wasn't sure about some, but I am sure about some of his awesome ones.

Mairuzu : It's freakin' awesome and definitely one of Clive Owen's best.

That's the thing about awards, though.

He's no worse off because he hasn't won an Oscar, and it doesn't help you or him. He's no less recognised.

I get what you're saying about awards. But now that he has gotten one, it is some type of recognition and that's always welcomed I think. And as far as recognition is concerned, getting an Oscar gets announced overseas too, and many foreigners who may never have heard of him now do.

Me...yeah. Doesn't make too much of a difference in my life except feeling good for him. Nothing else.

Mairuzu my bad...just looked back. You think it's one of Clive's better ones though?

I would think he is very well known in other areas outside of America, he doesn't need an Oscar to get noticed.

Oh, i get it now, you were responding to me, not quoting me... my mistake

and yea, it is one of his bests

I've seen it 3 times in theaters now, but that's far enough for me.

I can only deal with pissed off Harvey for so long.

Will be excited for its DVD release though, can't wait to watch the commentary.

Got a few friends in the Middle East and India. All movie-lovers. I don't want to use the word 'illiterate', but they know stars and movies as 'that one with the...', and 'Oh yeah, that muscular guy in that crappy movie ...' [ref: I am Legend!]

But they actually followed up on which movies 'this guy with the eyebrows, he won Oscar...very short man' he had directed after they read his name, because they assumed all his other movies would be good.

You'd be surprised how many kids in Iraq and Kuwait loved movies but lived through the above-mentioned scenario. All because of the exposure due to his Oscar.

P.S. Gave me an idea for an interesting thread: Which directors/ actors/ actresses do you think didn't deserve their Oscars? Hmm.

No S#!t ! I can only imagine. 😱
Well, for now.

i hear you guys, i waited two weeks to see it and the amount of shit i got for it from friends was unbelievable. You would have thought i hadnt seen godfather or something yet..... sooo obnoxious

Only reason people go crazy about it is because of Heath's unfortunate passing. That made people want to see his last performance.
