The new Resident Evil video game depicts a white man in what appears to be Africa killing Black people. The Black people are supposed to be zombies and the white man’s job is to destroy them and save humanity. “I have a job to do and I’m gonna see it through.”

This is problematic on so many levels, including the depiction of Black people as inhuman savages, the killing of Black people by a white man in military clothing, and the fact that this video game is marketed to children and young adults. Start them young… fearing, hating, and destroying Black people.

Yes… I am more comfortable with the zombies being white. In fact, ALL zombies should be white from this day forth.

So, the stupid part of all of this is that people who support "black rights" are also the first ones to claim that Africa needs to be more prominent in the media.

This is only going to make it less likely (in games at least) that Africa or African issues are ever addressed, simply because some people don't like it if, in their mind alone, they can draw an analogy between it and the oppression of black people.

Also, the game designer is from east Asia, where the sensitivity of American blacks to this type of imagery is not necessarily understood as well as we understand it.

Yes, it did take place in Spain, where Hispanics were infected with the plagas, and obviously killed.

sooo, what about the RE games that had you killing white people...in American? That's not PC, is it? There should have been hispanics, asians, native americans, whites, etc. as killable zombies.
