Galactus basically was being his haughty and arrogant self, telling Mephisto to give him back his heralds, Mephisto refused and tried to show that he was someone to be reckoned with.
Surfer telepathically suggested to Galactus that he might want to threaten Mephisto with the consumption of his entire realm... worked a treat.
Mephisto has absolutely no chance against Galactus, even in his own realm.
Surfer's soul is supposed to be pure, which is why Mephisto is so fascinated by it, I don't think Mephisto can ever beat Surfer because Galactus would demand his herald back. but in a battle over the soul of Surfer, Mephisto loses to Surfer everytime.

false...mephisto had the upper hand on galactus and the only why galactus could win is by consuming hell, other wise there battle would have destroy galaxies
mephisto could kill surfer any time he wants...he just want his soul so he doesnt kill him
