but, thanos "can" teleport, it's just that eternals hate doing so since they have to dissemble and reassemble their molecules in whatever location they want to go to. that is a difficult technique since their bodies are so advanced, and it leaves even a 5th level matter re-arranger feeling queezy. thanos is the most powerful of all eternals (minus cronus) but even he (apparently) rather not self-teleport so he ingeniously engineered a throne which does it for him (and other useful things) which saves his personal energies so he can always be 100% for battle.
