Do it Xavier fight him, or he will take our glory from us do it, let us finish this for good
Xavier's head is swirling in every direction, but he is no longer in control the last vestiges of him are gone although he still knows what is going on.
Without thinking and still clasping Friste's saber he ignites them both.
The firmness that Xavier has always known to be ever-present in Master Ko Cabas' face- the firmness of a mentor, of a traveler, of a warrior- falters and melts when Xavier ignites the paired lightsabers, vague metaphors for the dichotomy of Xavier's broken mind. Cabas' face almost seems to sag as the weight of what is about to happen crushes him. Before he was firm and lecturing, insulted that you had ignored his warnings of the Dark Side. Now, he is quiet, and reactivates his lightsaber, the orange blade flashing into being.
And so we carry on into another duel...
The prolonged duel comes to a sudden end when the blood-red blade of the late Friste Tem's lightsaber finds itself embedded in Cabas' chest. The old man stares at the weapon that killed him for a moment, the curved black hilt of a Dark Jedi's lightsaber, then at the young man holding it.
"Never should have..." Cabas trails off, his eyes misting over before he falls backwards and off of the blade.
Xavier stands victorious at the cost of his soul. His Master is dead.
At the sudden site of his Master's body falling the mist in Xavier head disappears abruptly. Xavier Kolarn is at the full front of his mind, and the only sound that is made is when his knees hit ground.
He kneels over his fallen Master's body as the rocks and steam shouts all around him. Xavier face remains as ice cold as always but beneath all of his memories are coming forward. This was the only person Xavier ever cared, his father in many ways.
He continues to stare as a single tear leaks down his face tinted with the same silver color as his eyes.
Now our failure is complete whispers the dark voice in Xavier's mind.
"No not yet," replies Xavier. Then he picks up Master Cabas' lightsaber and holds it to his chest and begins to push the button.
No speaks the bitter voice, and a command not of Xavier lowers his arm. I am not yet finished full filling my glory. I need more, he was just a taste.
"For all your talk you cannot function without me, and I wish to die," returns Xavier.
Then a compromise, we will fight until we die. Me for my glory, you for you redemption. Until then our living will serve as our punishment. What say you
A rock barely misses hitting Xavier but he doesn't flinch as he looks on his Master's corpse.
"It is a logical compromise," and with that Xavier reaches over and hoists up the body of Ko Cabas into his arms.
"But he will not be buried here, he deserves better than that."
No more being uttered between them Xavier makes his way out of the cave as fast as he can.
Carrying the body of Ko Cabas, once a great Jedi Master, now just a corpse, Xavier lugs his tired and battered self as fast as his feet will allow out of the destruction of the cave. He stumbles over debris from the exploding stasis pods and falling rocks, slipping up in the dust that once composed the bodies of Sith warriors.
The Mirror Test has been disabled by the impending destruction of its location, but the stone bridge that crossed the underground river has begun to split and crack. If it gives before Xavier gets across, he will be trapped.
Speeding up your movements with the Force, you manage to sprint across the bridge. Each step you take it gives out behind you, crumbling into the rushing river below. That way into the cave is now forever lost.
Racing up into the narrow hallway where the history of Zrik was depicted, you are met with flickering lights that fail and the twisting and buckling of the hallway as the Tomb of Mortez enters its final death throes, rocks falling about you, spouts of flame and steam breaking through the floors and walls, the mural of Zrik splitting and falling to the floor...
It is in the last stretch of the hallway that the great machine that Friste tried to use detonates, sending a wall of flame chasing after Xavier. It nearly catches him, but instead he breaks out into the open and the flames curl outwards about the door instead of following him. The newly-fallen Jedi keeps running as sections of the mountain it was hidden under are tossed about, and lightning from Zrik's ruined sky begins to strike. Finally, he can keep going no more; he stumbles and falls into Zrik's top layer of ash, a cloud of it puffing up about him and Cabas' body.
After a moment of covering your head, you realize that the danger is over. Despite dull rumblings inside the smoking mountain, it has passed.
In the distance, the Ravaging Claw stands silently. Much closer, the New Beginning has landed amongst the smouldering heaps that used to be pirate transports- they have been shot at.
A swirl off wind and ash obscured your view at first, but you find that Trax is already standing outside of the ship- and he is being held at gunpoint by a man in black. Xorn Elias has made it out of the cavern.
"You!" Xorn shouts, looking over his shoulder at you. He stops clutching his saber wound and draws his second pistol, swinging it in your direction. "Don't move, Jedi!"
Trax is standing still nervously.
Xavier uses the last of his strength to stand.
He looks down to the body of Master Cabas.
"We are a Jedi no longer. I have already killed Friste Tem, and Ko Cabas today. If you must be the third one so be it, but we do not wish to now. I, Xavier Kolarn, will not spill any more blood this day unless I have to."
