If you followed what he said thoroughly, he would also be saving more than he is spending.

I think on the whole both, used to, want to lower taxes. McCain more than Obama and across the board. But Obama wanted to raise them on the upper percentile.

America is 100 people. 95 of them pay 10% of their income to the government of all 100. 5 of them control 90% of the money and pay 3% of their income because of the volumn paid in and because of the tax loopholes that allow them to reduce the percent they pay. That's not raising taxes, it''s leveling the playing field making all 100 people equal contributors. This idea of trickle down economics has proven not to be a credible one.

Guess I have to just blindly take his word for it..not much one can do about it at this point.

"I will not raise taxes on 95% of Americans"..cant really make up that money through taxes then.

And we all know about how much Obama wants to spend..so he cant be cutting spending.

We all know how expanding the government, wars and cutting corporate taxes is free.

Well, the correct way to go about would be fixing the holes, not randomly guessing by increasing the tax (very hurtful for those few that can't take advantage of such loopholes).

I think a flat tax, no excuses, is probably one of the fairer and more reasonable.

How does government spending have anything to do with the economic crisis?

Cutting spending is exactly what he proposes. Along with spending what we have more responsibly. You'd know that if you were actually listening to what he says, instead of just looking at the little (D) next to his name.

Fixing the loopholes is exactly what he's proposed. A flat tax figure or a flat tax percentage?

You're not looking at the bigger picture; but just "Obama wants to spend all our money on AIDS-orphans in Somalia!" knee-jerk reaction.

I believe he plans on cutting down on wasteful spending, ergo, that money not going out would be like money coming in. So spending $8.00 on band-aids while simultaneously saving $12.00 that you were spending on donuts in the past, still nets you a $4.00 gain, see?

Granted, he'd still have to actually do what he said he would do if he gains office.

I think he also proposed just increasing the tax. I'd say a flat tax percentage is alright for now.

Yeah, raise taxes to make them equal for everyone, but not simply raise them just for funsies.

Universal Health Care is cutting spending? The Obama campaign itself estimates the plan could add as much as $60 billion a year to the nation's $2 trillion health tab.

Giving 90+ billion dollars to the UN is cutting spending?

(Waits for the.."He will end the war and save trillions!"😉

Why wait for it. Why don't you debunk the argument, if you can?

Other things are being cut besides the war and all this programs are not starting in year one, and that was before this "crisis."

Read back over what I've said. I'm not going to repeat myself if you're not going to consider my comments before speaking.

I dont have to..Obama will prove it himself when we are still in Iraq 3 years into his next term.

His only hope can be if the Republicans retake congress so he can put the blame on them in 2012.

What specifically? The rambling of Obama raising taxes on the rich so its fair? This rich 10% already pays..what..90% of the countries taxes? And raising the taxes on them even more will be fair?

Ok. So, if he did, wouldn't that save money?
