Red Hulk has to be easily capable of beating down Thor/Odinforce.
it seems a bit of an anti-climax going from KOing a +Watcher+ to fighting some quasi-skyfather... only makes sense in terms of fan base, I guess.
Thor is the "big one" that the Hulk tussles with, so Red Hulk needs to show just how much more of a powerhouse he is than regular Green Hulk, by mightily kicking Odinson arse.
by god I hope they don't bring back Savage Hulk to face off against Red Hulk, again. I can't believe they got rid of over 3+ years of Hulk development, the meditation, the growing amity between Hulk and Banner, the explicit admission by Hulk/Banner that Savage Hulk was a mere adolescent in terms of Hulk's powers (this was stated whilst on Nightmare Island, iirc... a few issues before Hulk ripped Nightmare's head off)...
much though I like the endearing 'idiocy' of Savage Hulk, the monosyllabic purity of his expression and the inventive nicknames he gives to all his adversaries (and companions), I so prefer the mature and awe inspiring King Hulk or even the Hulk as he was in the period from just before House of M to the start of Planet Hulk.
it'd be a travesty to just jettison all that development 😐.
Uh I dont see how loeb went from a series that started almost like a murder mystery to a (Lets see who red hulk can fight this month)
Every issue has been the same. First red hulk fights the person for every panel until the last page in which a new character enters the fray.
At the end of issue 2 we see abomination
At the end of issue 3 we see Hulk
At the end of issue 4 we see Thor

Peter David worked for years to estasblish The dumb Hulk as the Hulk who was a child, and now to bring his dumb ass back to the fore is ridiculous. Unless Red Hulk and Green Hulk split and... I just think Loeb needs to get it together.

Now that I think about it, perhaps Doc Samson is not the Red Hulk. The Red Hulk has shown a lot of intelligence in wiping out files of Banner and infiltrating S.H.I.E.L.D. so he might have left the gamma soaked cloth of Samson as a distraction. It might be Gen. Ross because he is the one character that has hated the Hulk and wanted to defeat him for so long. Doc Samson has not wanted this.

That's true. In fact Doc Samson HAS already defeated the Hulk, granted it was under certain stipulations but still.

Sucker punching a pacifist Alien who only defends himself under the worst circumstances. Yes, he has power he barely uses, but he's nowhere near Galactus or Celestial level.
As for Thor, I don't see him coming back & crushing Iron Man with just four shots, only to be whooped by Red Hulk. Here's betting they fight to a standstill at least, then the Green Hulk jumps in from the side for round 2.
