I really dont know what FPS you play, but if not all of them are less than 20 hours. If they are over that many hours than usually the gameplay suffers. Look at Bioshock, its around 25 hours but those last 5 hours are weak compared to the first 10. Even Ken Levine said the same thing. But all those games, you can get when you buy Half Life 2. Try it out on Steam. Also if people can play online with an internet connection than mods should be allowed also because you just need a copy of Half Life, or a copy of Half Life 2 and a net connection. Hell, the reason why Half Life sold so well was because of the mod scene. Sometimes it sells the game. You seriously never seen the mod scene for Half Life have you?
Of course I've seen "the mod scene." That was never the issue, nor my original point. I was simply arguing that a completely different game (TF2, to use the earlier example) probably shouldn't get shuffled in under "HL2" when bringing games to your island. It seems like kind of a dumb loophole to sneak in multiple games under one of your ten slots.
So of course your argument trumps mine if we're including all of those. My point was that HL2 was short. It is. By nearly any standard. You changed the criteria by saying that it wasn't, due to mods. I never argued against that. And now you're assuming I don't even know what mods are, despite having referenced them in past posts. Seems a bit presumptive and condescending, no?
We get mods? Woot, then the HL series becomes a viable pick for the island. I happily concede the point, and never actually contested it.

As for the first paragraph, being 25 hours isn't what made the last 5 hours worse. The last 5 hours being worse is what made the last 5 hours worse. A game can be 10, 25, 50, 100 hours and be quality throughout or crap throughout. Your argument, framed as it was, equates length with quality, which isn't the case.
