Likely Bane's being screwed with here. I dunno what Arkham was doing to him, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Joker added some sort of controlling agent to Bane's Venom. This sort of setting is above him, normally. He'd never agree to hunt Batman alongside other villains.
Maybe Bane will go berserk and attack not only Batman but Joker's henchmen as well which would probably be awesome.

From the preview I would agree and you're right it's just not in Bane's nature to team up and quite frankly, he doesn't need to.

Because Bane was Poison Ivy's henchman which I'm sure fans didn't like since Bane isn't usually the kind of guy who works with others. Have you read the comics?
But yeah. My reasons for thinking Bane might be a henchman in this game was pretty much along the lines of what G_K said.

Bane is obviously being fvcked with in Arkham, he went through some serious shiznit.
Look at him before he gets pumped with Venom, he's scrawny as hell, which is not very characteristic of the Bane I know, and he was being held there by Joker most likely only for the purpose of fighting Batman, so when Batman approached Bane, Joker pumped him full of the Venom which deteriorates his mental processes. I do not think Joker has a controlling agent in it, more likely just taking advantage of the diminished psyche Bane has with Venom to send him in a berserker state to kill Batman.
Well, it's been played around with before that extended use of Venom has an adverse effect on your body. Batman Beyond Bane was confined to a wheelchair and barely alive. Arkham Asylum Bane seems about halfway there.
And true, with what Venom does to the brain on its own, Bane could simply be attacking Batman because he's in the room.
Played the demo at gamestop today hehe... it was pretty disappointing
-counter system is too easy
-the "takedowns" werent really very responsive, and the possibilities of said takedown was never really explained
-why do you have to stop and aim before you throw a batarang?.. chuckin a batarang in mid-combo would have gained some serious points with me. but alas...
-every strike batman does with the attack button is heavy.. yet it takes at least 15+ hits before one enemy decides to die.. (unless you do a takedown of course)..
-overusage of bullet time, involving models that didnt really even convincingly connect the attacks with one another (i.e. batman would throw a punch about 2 feet from a dudes head and dude'd still get bowled over)
-a non-bullet-proof cape?.. wtf?.. I got mulled by menial arms fire because I expected batman to come prepared for a fight.. tsk..
-braindead dynasty warriors enemies... you know the ones I'm talking about... walk up to you.. kick... wait 3 seconds.. kick... wait another 3 seconds.. kick... /bored
-cape stun?.. wtf?.. probably the stupidest move in his arsenal, no matter how effective it is game-wise
-the so-called "Free-Form" combat, with a corny trademark on it.. c'mon guys.. it was done already in Matrix : The Path of Neo.. its nothing new
-holding X to run, and double-tapping X to dodge?.. wtf.. seriously.. learn something from devil may cry, or ninja gaiden maybe?.. or perhaps dodge is so imba they had to make it a more difficult input.. /shrug
the good :
-loved the animation
-the freeform combat allows batman to mingle among the crowd however he pleases (though this might be a bad thing.. too overpowered IMO).. even to the point of dashing clear across the room to toss a booger-hook to some poor schmuck
-the counter system, while braindead in its current form could be refined and made into something fun, and that requires skill
game holds promise.. but seems like the testers were sleeping on the job
I'd also dig a Versus mode, with a more refined combo engine
just my 2 cents though 🙂

Can't you dodge the enemies firing and no i'm trying to say like the matrix....
and yeah i don't know where you got the impression his cape is bullletproof.

How and why would his cape be bulletproof?I mean seriously if it was bulletproof then that would mean you were invulnerable every time you used it; that would have lead to a less challenging game.
I just figured he had some immunity or high resistance to arms fire with some part of his gear, cuz somewhere I've seen him take a bullet and not be harmed
and thats another thing, the enemies dont hit eachother eevn if they're in thier own line of fire.. the bullet spray somehow magically goes over their head to hit you ><

the dodge is a bit wierd.. he does a gigantic slow dive followed by a roll, which doesnt really cover too much ground.. so I'm guessing he must be immune while performing it.. I didnt get to try it out too much before my friend wanted to leave
if the dodge was like dmc or ninja gaiden.. I'd probably have no complaints.. but its a lil annoying to have to watch whether you double tap or hold a button during a gigantic brawl

batman's suit offers some protection, but it's in no way bulletproof...

interesting cuz I found these on some question asking site :
Is Batman's suit bullet-proof?
According to "Batman: The Ultimate Guide to the Dark Knight" by Scott Beatty and published by DC Comics, "Pound for pound, body armor pales in comparison. Designed for maximum utility, the Dark Knight's costume is both fire-retardant and chemical-resistant, with triple-weave Kevlar." In addition the cape not only is defensive, but doubles as an offensive weapon due to weights in the scallops of the cape which provide quite a wallop when the hit a foe. The cowl is also Kevlar-lined and steel reinforced for extra protection, the boots and gloves also provide extra protection, though not as much as the cowl. The most protected area, other than the cowl is the chest region and the entire back due to the cape providing extra protection along with basic suit Kevlar-weave. Also the neck region has high levels of protection to help prevent a broken neck.
and this also :
Batman wears a suit of superlight ballistic fibre proof against low to medium caliber firearms. His cowl is armored, lead lined and his cape is also bulletproof, fire retardant and water resistant. Batman also possesses a number of other suits that he can tailor to his needs. He also possesses a suit of powered armor.
people are also saying his suit can deflect bullets if the bullets strike him at an angle.. but that he's highly vulnerable to a direct shot
