Clone Wars- where next?

Right, because that was the only SW movie that characters died in.

Or, not exactly.

Didn't read my post carefully enough. Read it again.

I think the question is no longer

Clone Wars- where next?
but it has now transcended to: clone wars is in handbasket, hell. the new question is
how long will clone wars stay there?

Actually I read it quite well, and the majority of the characters killed in ROTS were ones that had been on screen for less than 30 seconds over the entire trilogy. Not exactly well known characters that were built up over several movies, those were. Only well known if you got into the comics or books, which probably 95% of people who watch the movies have never done.

Having seen the previous animated series and the recent animated movie ,i dont find myself caring or being interested in the slightest,i find it all boring. whats the appeal here anyway...being 37 years old.....i would expect to see animated series and movies based on what happens after episode VI...they are all still for the most part alive and to get them to do voices...seems like an easy task...i dont know...i mean George always gets pegged for trying to make an extra dollar off everything star wars....is this any different?

Not really, it's not a very noteworthy series either. It's okay, fun for EU fans and I don't mind watching them. But it is diluting the SW franchise severely and moving away from what it really is. It's going the way off Star Trek: too much of questionable narrative quality.

If you think THIS is questionable, you've ignored all of KOTOR and 75% of the EU, especially ANYTHIGN prior to the 2002 when Lucas finally figured out how to integrate this stuff.

The story after VI is complete sh!t and worthless. And Starlock, well, you're 37. You complain about Lucas trying to make a buck, but at least he's trying to make a buck doing something different. He's not just doing this for money, he's doing it because it is fun for him too. Hell if I was in his position, I'd have some kickass series/movies out that probably everyone would hate. (Just because I dont see Star Wars like you) If he kept doing the same plot with the same ancient actors, that's a real crime. Then all of you would be complaining about how Lucas is ruining the OT and diluting out the franchise.

Which brings me to queeqs point. People want more, but more quantity = more dilution.

I dont need to make the point that Star Wars today is different than the Star Wars of yesteryear. But, you sometimes the older guys fail to understand is this. I appreciate the OT as a fan, because I fell in love with the PT. I didn't start at point A and then continually have more crap shoved down my throat, I started at a later point and can look back on the past with a different respect. This is a natural progression, circle of life stuff. There are different types of PT ans now, a product of the PT causing the great fan schism.

For me, if an OT cartoon was made, Lucas would seem like the ultimate sellout, saying that the Star Wars that made me a fan is essentially a failure and nothing good in the franchise has happened since 1983 (I was -3 years old, and if you want my opinion, nothing good had happened since 1981). Lucas would be stuck catering to a ever decreasing/dying (literally and figuratively) and alienate both new fans and future fans who didn't experience Star Wars like you guys, just as you have not experienced it like us.

I dont think the series is great yet. Its more annoying than the Gendy series, but its also better. I've seen potential. I just want to do an episode lol.

Well, EU is still easy to ignore. The tv series (including Ewoks, Droids and the first Clone Wars) are closer to the original films. Because tehy are a similar medium. The Clone Wars movie comes out in the cinema even. Books and games can be ignored from the canon. This series is yet unclear how to fit it in. But yeah, it gets diluted. Maybe we get J.J. Abrams to revisit SW in 40 years time and bring it back to what it was supposed to be. 😉

Trust me. I've dabbled in EU, its SCARY shit. its different than the movies, but it also has the potential to be better and contains some of my favorite aspects of Star Wars. I'm so impressed with how Star Wars EU has matured in the past few years. It took the ending of the films to get there I think, there were going to be no more films, people needed to make the new Star Wars (EU) GOOD. We've gotten the Legacy Series, Republic Commando, TFU, Traviss' RC novels, The Gendy Series and now TCW which I hope will end up good.

J.J. Abrams re-doing Star Wars.. 😆

...Hey Alliance, you changed your name...

FINALLY! I've been waiting weeks for that.

I have been more impressed with the Expanded Universe lately, but only in regards to the comic books and the Clone Wars cartoon. Clone Wars is fun to dabble around with and watch, and the comics? Legacy has had some impressive moments, and the KOTOR comics have even trumped some of what shows up in the KOTOR games.

The video games and books I'm less fond of. I'll just grow old thinking how great Jedi Knight and Shadows of the Empire were... which to be honest isn't all the long ago.

I've shied away form the books. The only ones I read are Traviss' RC series, which totally kick Sep arse. I might pick up Legacy, least the mando-centric ones.

There are too many quicky games coming out like Lightsaber Duels etc that have little point beyond dabbling. But I don't know how Republic Commando, which I think is just a brilliant game, TFU, which for its gameplay flaws is an amazing product, and Battlefront(s) which are at least decent shooters aren't major improvements in Star Wars gaming.

He's doing Star Trek, setting thing straight.

Congrats on the new name and logo, Alliance. Where does Ordo come from? And you don't mind us calling you Alliance for ever, right? 😉

Thinking back, I think there was a Padawan in the council meeting room that resembles Asoaka (or what ever way her name is spelt) when he slaughters them in ROTS.

Same species and maybe the same age...

Maybe that is her fate going down right there...?

Not dramatic enough.

No smart ass reply?

haha. No. Doesn't matter, really. I've been called much worse lol.

Ordo is an old Mandalorian clan and name. Canderous Ordo was a Mand'alor during the KOTOR era. Ordo was also the planet form which Clan Ordo originated.

For this reason Ordo was also the nickname of Null-11. Captain Ordo. He clenches his fists and hates thunder. Just a kickass clone all around.

Also when I RP as a Mando I often use the chracter Caius Ordo, a member of clan Ordo.

Ordo also means "Order" in latin (as in Novus Ordo Seclorum), which has personal and military ramifications, as well as reminding me of the GAR contingency orders including Order 66. It also references ORD, which is the code of O'Hare international airport, so there is a bit of hometown pride in there too.

Next week's episode sounds pretty good, finally Obi Wan gets to do something.

..excpet they fight a giant bat...

I know there is a monster fight in every Star Wars film (excpet ROTS), but do we need several in one season?
