HERO HIGH 2 - The Mystery

"Derek.......This is a telepathic voice speaking to you from Ricardo.....Where are you dude?

Ricardo said as he still stares at a mirror that shows no reflection of himself.

Derek felt Ricardo in his mind.

''You will find me at the lake. Come and join me as fast as you can''.

"A big can of milk": Meo smiled then, twirling her tail with her one hand while carrying all the stuff in her other one. She looked then over at Serin, nodding discreetly :"This is hardly enough to satisfy me. Normally, this is an appetizer, but since your paying, this will have to be enough for now. I do not want to dry out your wallet"

"Thats it sir, two bucks per roll, three for the juice and five at a discount for the can of milk."

"Eh-heh..." A bead of sweat ran down his face. "Right." He reluctantly forked over thirty five dollar bills and got his three bucks change. "Enjoy thi- wah, you mean you normally eat more! Gah!" He left the line and headed for a table, dropping his wallet in the nearest bin. "I have my credit cards at home, and more money in my bag, no probs."

Ricardo: "Derek."

Derek turned to him with a smile.

''So you have come. That is good.''

He waited for Ricardo to join him and then they walked together on the trail.

''Before telling you what is on my mind, I want to know what was on yours. Last night, you told me of something that was bothering you, am I correct?''

Ricardo listened with a smile and nodding.

Ricardo: "Well, yesterday my mind has hit a tiny limit as I began to feel dizzy for some reason. Of course, I have found a girl....Who's immune to mind reading. I mean dude it's a funny story really. I have meet plenty of females throughout this school and I kept thinking of that little joking remark of us taking a couple girls for a double date or something. But this girl was immune to mind reading so I tried my best to get to her but then there was a swerve at the end. She was 30 years old.......Of course, I wanted to laugh but it was not the time. But anyways, I think my mind must have hit a limit probably due to reading a mind that is immune to it."

Derek smiled.

''You may find people who have that ability. Others, like, me, cannot stop it, only feel it. As I am feeling you are looking throught my mind at that moment.''

Derek laughed.

''Who was this girl you are talking to me about?''

Ricardo widens his eyes with a half smile. as Derek sensed his mind reading.

Ricardo: "Well she is a WOMAN named Ace of Tales. A shapeshifter who does not even attend the school nor has anything to do with it at all. I will meet her again soon but it worries me a bit....."

Derek looked at him.

''Is that so?''

That was perfect. He had his grip on him.

''What would you say if the task I would appoint to you... made you see her again, as much as you want?''

Ricardo: "I do?.....Well what I am trying to explain to you is that she was asking me questions that made me suspicious about her."

Ricardo tries not to look into Derek's mind this time. He however had powerful analyzation when it came to conversations.

Derek kept walking.

''Suspicions that triggered questions in your mind. Questions I cannot answer, unfortunately. I do not know much as my powers let met on these matters.''

Derek slowed down and smile.

''Perhaps if you go and talk to her, you might ultimately understand more about your exceptionnal powers and how they work. Maybe even master them in time.''

Derek looked at Riocardo's face. Every expression he would make would be felt by him.

A blue could of dust cam and Skiv appeared behind derek and ricardo.

"Hello guys, how is the mission coming" He then glanced at dereks collor

"Derek where is the necklace?"

Derek, while waiting for Ricardo's answer, turned to Skiv.

''I gave the necklace to Vixen. I felt I could no longer wear it arround my neck. It was becoming a burden''.

Ricardo thought of the Question as he stops and turns to Skiv and Derek in conversation, trying not to intrude any further.

"Fine, well i'll be keeping a close eye on that girl from now on then, but anyways continue with your response ricardo" Skiv truned to face Ricardo

Derek nodded to Skiv, and with a hand movement, showed Skiv could include the conversation.

He then turned to Ricardo, waiting.

Ricardo: "First I must see if she will help me...."

Ricardo said while rubbing his chin and pulling out a pack of uniquely designed cards.

Skiv began to scratch his head, as he stared at ricardo with a confused look on his face

"And you have cards on you, why?"

''We know of where she hides. In a place called the Guild, not that far from here. I will not let you go alone. You will be accompanied, to ensure your security and hers.''

Derek put a hand on Ricardo's shoulder.

''Even if she refuses to help you, you would learn something. To the extent of knowing why she would not help you. This voyage could only be profitable for you, and for me. For I am curious to know your potential.''

Derek came closer to Ricardo.

''However, if so I should show you the way and security to ge to her, I must ask you to do one thing for me, a simple thing.''
