Also, saying a band is overrated is silly, why base opinions on other peoples opinions? I love the Beatles for what they are, not because they're hailed as the greatest band ever or whatever.

I like The Beatles because I like the music they made, I think it's good.

I call them overrated because calling them excellent is rating them too high, IN MY OPINION. Never mind acting like every band since must owe them a debt of gratitude, and happens to be inferior.

There were better bands before, during and after The Beatles.

fs, The Beatles takes out anything America has ever produced, never mind Floyd, The Clash, Oasis, Zeppelin and Sex Pistols 😆

The Beatles are the most overrated facet of this planet's history since Jesus. Not since Jesus has the exaggeration of ability gone so far.

They are not the most influential band ever, in a musical sense. They're the most namedropped. Nothing they did on their albums changed musical perception like people before or after.

Jeff Buckley only ever made one album of original material, a couple of those songs were covers. It still more or less trumps any British album ever recorded, including The Beatles.

The Beatles aren't that great, and they're certainly not timeless. There's a difference between songs and a band's legacy lasting on its own, and people continually bringing them up because they feel they have to.

Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys is better than anything The Beatles ever did. Paul McCartney wets his pants over that album. The album widely regarded as The Beatles' best, Sgt. Pepper's, was the product of influence from The Beach Boys and Frank Zappa. Both endlessly peerless in different areas, both American.

Great point, I totally forgot our contribution to music, we're probably the most influential country on rock music.

That would be America, actually.

Without slavery, no blues.

Without blues, no rock. Simple.

I was talking about popularity wise and how big they were.

Why does that mean anything at all?

Might as well use The Spice Girls, and if you wanna use The Spice Girls to prove how Britain is BETTER, then I suggest just shooting the country in its head to save the massacre.

Although, America has just recently given the world Katy Perry, so I think we can probably look back on the aforementioned girl group as dodging the bullet and say "At LEAST we didn't give you Katy Perry, and you got off lightly with The Spice Girls.".

I could hate on Brits all day, but I dont, because I think America has just as much to be hated on.

if you read any of my posts then you will realise I already did mention the Spice Girls. Serpent was talking about popularity wise, hence why I brought it up. I didn't use it as a way to say Britain is better, but the fact is the majority of America's female youth loved them.
