Eh. They only debated with Spawn in their match with me. So I'm not really in the dark anymore. And everyone has powerful teams. If I freaked out about every character that I don't know a ton about, I'd never have the time to form my own strategies. Though I was, and still am, against someone with such an amorphic, varying, and vague historical canon. It takes a PHD in Spawn just to know what feats are valid for which arbitrary "eras."

The eras thing had me too. I couldn't figure out what feats were valid or not. I couldn't tell if I was being hoodwinked or not. Sometimes it takes too much digging to reall know.

Scoob & Leo
I have to give it up for these guys. They are coming up with absolute zero winds, exploding gas…I wouldn’t be surprised if they tried to apply a silly string of death combo. Their recent victory over DeBel, marked the end of their loosing streak. Which is surprising to hear from another tournament favorite. They don’t have a character in their team, that I would say is their center point of attention. Maybe its because they like being the center of attention.

Well, that was a prognosed loss... I didn't hope for 6\0 victories record... but even what I have so far is good for playoffs.

And frankly, I'm happy that next are 2 bye weeks in a row for me...I got kinda tired in general (I barely slept last two days, all my Halloween plans went down to the dustbin) and would happily accept the spot of happy reader for the next two weeks.

Blair and Smurph
Tournament favorite that delivers. It seems that its focal point is drawn into Nimrod. I was surprised to hear, that they had lost their match with DeBel. However, the strategy was a vary ambitious one. But their victory over Leo/Scoob refortifies that they should not be under estimated. I like their debate strategy, some what similar to hours. Smurph goes off on the offensive aiming to just overwhelm the poor guy with a quote war. B-Dub backs him up, and reaffirms what their plan and strats are.

First, their team had glaring weakness which is Vector (drafting person with ONE big feat and a ton of showings to contradict it)- though making research on Vector made my friends think I went crazy as I generally ignore comics with Incredible Hulk in it, and then they caught me with a bunch of scans of those comics.

I did what I could there.

As for Digi, well, I had no attempt to enter "geek competition" with you... And frankly, I don't care whether I win or lose.
I only hope it was one show of a match🙂)

Charlotte DeBel
What can I say, she walked away with an easy victory over us. Her uses and combination of Miss Martian, and Emma has warranted only one loss. I have to say, on this forum (my ego/inner Id speaking here) I am only humbled by Exodus knowledge on how Psionic works. I am glad that there is another member, who understands the complexity of this power set, and its uses. Fear her use of the White Queen, and the Green Alien.

That combo was tried on another forum before that. In that tourney I decided to stop with experimenting for the sake of experimenting and did something I was sure would work.

And colleague Exodus is great at what he does. I'm proud to be a co-author of Emma's RT considering I have to work with such a brilliant person🙂

The center of controversy. Another new blood, to this tourney. Here is the funny thing. While Kfish makes conservative drafts, fangirl is really hitting this tourney with less known characters, with over the top prep/strat. Balance Chica, its all about balance. Don’t try to do too much, which questions if you even have the time to do what you claim past the second post!?. Yet keep the tactics imaginative. You have the imaginative part down. I think you just relay on force feeding info too much too soon. Its counter productive, because VET’s will take every claim and attempt to refute it despite being within reason. It’s a huge burden, for one to defend every claim, before one starts to break down.

Keep it up guys, I will see you at the top - Id

You know, this is why I asked K-Fish to be my partner next round. He's really good with debunking and debating in general. While I, know how to make the best of a weak character. Kinda like how Charlotte does with Emma and Megan the Martian. Took me a few hits and misses but I got the jist now. Just need someone like K-Fish who can look at a plan and deconstruct it. If he can see the flaws in our plan before we start, I can retool. 🙂

A good decision. Nobody wins those against me.

Yeah Spawn is my caged animal. I’ve had my way with Cable and X-Man, both are fairly respective characters. But I have not come across a tournament where Lobo or Spawn have bin properly used. So I thought, man it would be great to give him some exposure. So far my investment in him has bin paying off.

Lobo would never be allowed in any tourney. Healing's too vague/unstoppable/etc. Spawn shouldn't have been, imo, just because his various eras make him too hard to understand or even gauge properly.

But if he's paying off, as you say, then kudos. You have some work yet before the playoffs, since right now you're on the outside looking in, but best of luck to you.

I know Lobo isn’t allowed in this tournament maybe some time in the near future, in a herald class one. I am still itching to make use of him. There is nothing hard about understanding Spawns eras. 3rd Age Spawn can do everything 1st age Spawn can and vice versa. The only defining differences are:

1) power consumption. 1st has limited reserves, 3rd doesn’t.

2) 3rd era, All Simons is fully resurrected, underneath the suit is a human. 1st era he is nothing more then animated necroplasmic corpse.

That’s all you have to know, about the era’s.

If you say so. Still a bit confusing to me though, especially given the wild nature of his powers.

....

Also, in other news, 2/3 of the votes are in this week. A playoff picture is starting to shape up.

Any updates on standings/schedules to be had this week?

Well, the 3rd judge's vote isn't in yet for the current matches, but here are updated standings with what we know.

1. Digi ---- 5-0 (13-1) [.929]
2. B-Dub/Smurph ---- 3-1 (9-3) [.750]
3. Charlotte ---- 4-2 (11-6) [.647]
4. Leo/Scoob ---- 3-2 (9-5) [.643]
5. Kandy/id369 ---- 1-3 (4-7) [.364]
6. Fangirl ---- 1-4 (3-11) [.214]
7. Kfish ---- 0-5 (0-14) [.000]

Charlotte and I have playoff berths clinched. And Kandy/id is the only team that could mathematically catch Leo/Scoob and Blair/Smurph, meaning that FG and KFish are eliminated. Kandy/id could end up with the same judges score as Charlotte, but she owns the H2H tiebreak and will also end up with a better W/L record than them, so she can't be overtaken to be knocked out of the playoffs.

Seeding is still up in the air, sort of. Only Blair/Smurph could take over the 1 seed from me, due to records and tiebreaks. Otherwise, anyone could end anywhere.

What are members predication's in terms of the play off’s?
Who will hold the fabled 4 spots?

I completely missed this when it was posted.

That sort of pegs our team, but it's mostly a byproduct of us both being lazy as ****. Just take a look at our write up for our match vs. you. ermm

Yeah, I noticed. It’s the reason, why I just didn’t bother to continue.

When it was all said and done, a quote war would have followed. Quote wars, are tedious and boring.

Incorrect pecentage, darling🙂

Standings:

1. Digi ---- 5-0 (14-1) [.933]*
2. Charlotte ---- 4-2 (11-7) [.733]*
3. Leo/Scoob ---- 3-2 (10-5) [.666]

For some reason B-Dub's percentage was made by you better than it is.

Bdub/Smurph vs. Digi
id369/Kandy Vs. Scoob/Leo

Bye: Charlotte, Fangirl, Kfish

Judges: Illadelph, V, Badabing

Standings:

1. Digi ---- 5-0 (14-1) [.933]*
2. B-Dub/Smurph ---- 4-1 (11-4) [.733]*
2. Charlotte ---- 4-2 (11-7) [.733]*

6. Fangirl ---- 1-5 (4-14) [.222]
7. Kfish ---- 1-5 (3-15) [.166]

* = Clinched Playoff Berth

Notes:

B-Dub/Smurph's unanimous defeat of id369/Kandy clinched a playoff berth for Leo/Scoob and eliminated id369/Kandy from playoff contention.

B-Dub/Smurph can overtake Digi in 1st place with a unanimous victory in their week 8 match.

Leo/Scoob can secure the 2nd place seed with a unanimous victory versus id369/Kandy, and a unanimous defeat of B-Dub/Smurph by Digi.

Charlotte holds a tie breaker over B-Dub/Smurph.

B-Dub/Smurph hold a tie-breaker over Leo/Scoob.

id369/Kandy play spoiler to Leo/Scoob and can force a 4th Place seeding for them.

Digi has been the top seed all season, whether via tie or sole posession, and will only relinquish the top seed if losing by unanimous decision to B-Dub/Smurph.

There are now no winless teams. [/B]

Also, kudos and congrats to KFish and fangirl. You guys were worthy competitors. Kandy/id still has a match left, or I'd extend the same congrats to them on a tourney well-fought.

I've offered Fangirl to become my "apprentice"\teammate for the season 2 and she agreed.

We'll be calling our team "Girl Power"🙂

Heh. You guys need to recruit Krissy Von Doom out of retirement and you'll have probably the only other female combatant I can think of in tourney history. Though stormfront13 had a girl fetish in tourneys too for some reason, though he was supposedly a dude. Vampire Storm in a high herald tourney, for instance. Lulz. Though she was paired with Zatanna and someone else who wasn't totally worthless, so it wasn't a completely bad team.
