BC/AD or BCE/CE

What style do you prefer when it comes to dating systems.

Before Christ/Anno Domini

or

Before Current/Common Era/Current/Common Era

(n.b BCE/CE is often called Christian Era)

Hmm, I messed that up. The second option is Before Current Era/ Current Era. (The Current is sometimes replaced with Common or Christian)

BC / AD, it's just what I'm used to.

I use pcn and acn...cause I'm cool like that.

Can I ask why?

Because if he measures all of time from the standpoint of "before Christ" or "after Christ" then it gives some acknowledgement to Christ changing history and being more than a nice guy. 😉

No. Antything good like Science and discovery, were actually hindered and banned from the church.

That's not entirely true, the Church at times bankrolled "explorers" so they could set sail and discovery new lands, granted, they often robbed the indigenous people of their riches, forced them to convert or outright slaughtered them for the church, but still.

So...nothing good came from Religion?

BCE/CE

I find it to be more global and less religious based.

Unless you can name something, yeah.

Well, it's good example of why NOT to be religious.

Something bad coming from Science doesn't mean good things came from religion does it?
Saying, Religion has a fault, but so do any alternatives doesn't really redeem it.

Charity, Socialism, Social Progressives- all things Jesus supported.

All those works based on religion by composers such as Mozart, Beethoven etc.

ChristianAid the charity...

the Red Cross...

Yes, but Jesus as a man, and not as a god.

That doesn't matter- its still a religion.

Even if Christianity is false- good stuff still came from it.

I think Buddhism is false, but I still recognize that good things came from it.

(edit) Sorry wrong response! haha

Yeah perhaps but it is still Jesus
