I concur with everything you said except that I refuse to watch this so- called movie.
The choice for Goku (Kakarot) is atrocious and Ive already seen how jacked up the story is going to be.
Whats even funnier is the fact that everyone is asain except the main character. If thats the case, why couldn't Goku be asain or at least African.
Ive read people fighting about this and I say this...if Goku is an alien, why is he caucasian? or is that how all aliens look?
Last I checked, aliens tried to kill Sigourney Weaver and they looked pretty sick.

I'm kinda in the same boat. I love the db, especially the dbz series more that any other anime show series, especially the cell saga, but I dunno if it'll suck. it may..goku looks like something outta "one tree hill" and marsters picollo looks just wrong. but i'm still gonna see it just cause it's dragonball, cause I love it, and I wanna see how this recreation happens.
I hope it does good. I hope it doesn't go the way of the "Fist of the North Star" live action movie.
I remember watching the "Matrix Revolutions" in theatres in 'o4 and viewing the final fight in between neo and smith and thinking "ok, a dragonballZ fight in a movie can be finally made well" with the way those 2 were fighting.

The movie doesn't look "good" by any means. It looks like a mix of "Wanted" and "Spider - Man" with Dragonball references plastered on it....there's likely no way it's going to be better than those two, already mediocre, movies. If anything it might be a decent, dumb, action film, you could watch while surfing the internet and getting a blowjob...lets hope it is that...(especially the bj part).

No, there are good parts to it. I liked the capsule protion of it coming to life. That looks neat. I was wonering how they were going to pull that off, and it looks kind of like a transformer type of thing. Also, there is destruction on a massive scale, which is another positive for me.

No, it looks like a mixture of Transformers, Karate Kid, any van Damme movie, and take your pick of any fantasy movie for kids in the last 6 years. (Eragon, harry potter, the compass, etc.)

If you are a kid who didn't see or read DB related stuff, then it WILL be better than those two. Now, if only people could see this stuff in reverse. What if none of you knew anything about DB and then saw this movie and it got you into the manga? There's quite a few stupid things in the manga. Some of you would like the movie better than the manga. None of you would ever be open minded enough to actually think about it that way, of course. That's the problem with having read the manga first....you guys are much too closed minded.

Indeed. This is where we agree. I think it will be a decent dumb action film, about a 6 out of 10. I am open minded so if it does even better than that, I will give it a 7 out of 10.
However, I've already stated that this movie can suck major balls. So don't be surprised if I give this a 3 out of 10.

That's just silly, I do believe that you suffer from the reverse of what you like to accuse people of, actually. But lets not get into it.
The manga is, in many parts well written and a very enjoyable piece of literature in its own right. This looks like a movie I would likely not deem as good either way (at this point at time), so it would be unlikely I'd even check out the Manga, but maybe...that's actually what happened when I watched "Wanted", which wasn't a very good movie, but I still checked out the Comic, which is not half bad I must say.
As for your accusations, once more, I don't think I suffer from any sort of blanket syndrome, I think the PT is inferior to the OT for clear, alas, obviously, personal, reasons, while I am more than willing to, for example, give the Watchmen movie a chance, incidently, based on literature I far prefer over Dragonball.
Not to forget that i will give this a chance as well, I solely base my opinion so far on what I have seen, which, just doesn't look like a good movie (imo).
This film is going to be awful, you can just tell, I mean the fact they went with Piccolo right from the start is a clear sign of trouble, Piccolo + Live action will never work, never, the Red Ribbon army would have been a more appropriate choice.
Just to make a overall picture Dragonball + Live action will always fail!!! Because it can never capture the essence of the Dragonball manga.

I think that everyone is not giving this movie any chance and is going to watch it making it fail. I don't like that. THey should go to it sincerely neutral.
