MTV talked to Nicolas Cage, who says he's still interested in a sequel to Ghost Rider but would like to do a "reconceive." Moving away from the Western style of the first film, he sees a second film as more of an "international story" that may bring the character to Europe for a team-up with the Catholic Church. You can watch the interview segment below!

Hey, you know what Nicolas Cage? You're too f*cking old to play Johnny Blaze now, anyway. You were pushing it playing him the last time.

And Mark Steven Johnson - to borrow a famous line from Good Morning Vietnam - "sucks the sweat off a dead man's balls." You may be a comics fan, but you're a 2nd rate crap filmmaker.

Source:Variety September 23, 2009

Variety is reporting that Columbia Pictures is moving forward with a sequel to Ghost Rider.

David Goyer is in early talks to create the story and supervise writers for a film expected to once again star Nicolas Cage.

The trade adds that plans are under way to base the sequel on a script written years ago by Goyer (The Dark Knight, "Blade" franchise"😉. The original Ghost Rider was written by director Mark Steven Johnson.

The second installment will be produced by Avi Arad, Michael De Luca and Steven Paul, with Gary Foster serving as executive producer.

Hooray the sequal might acually be watchable.

i read that... GR 2 should be good

Yeah.....alot better then the first one.

The first Ghostrider movie sucked so bad...

The only way to save Ghostrider now, is to have Travis Pastrana play Johnny Blaze and have him go beat up Nicholas Cage on his first night out!

Why does it have to be Travis Pastrana for Blaze ?

David Goyer Talks Ghost Rider 2

Source:MTV November 4, 2009

MTV talked to David Goyer about what we can expect for Ghost Rider 2, which he says is "not exactly a reboot," picks up eight years after the first film, and is targeting a 2010 shoot.

"I hate to say it's more realistic, because he's got a flaming skull for a head, but it's a bit more stripped down and darker," Goyer added. "It's definitely changing tone. What 'Casino Royale' was to the Bond movies, hopefully this will be to 'Ghost Rider.'"

Producer Mike De Luca Talks Ghost Rider 2

http://www.superherohype.com/news/ghostridernews.php?id=8963

– Mark Steven Johnson is not directing the sequel

– Eva Mendes will not return as Roxanne Simpson

– Ghost Rider 2 (or Ghost Rider Spirit of Vengeance) will be a hard PG-13

– The film is going to take place in Europe

– De Luca is open to David Goyer directing the sequel but it all comes down to his very busy schedule

– Says the sequel will be like "pushing the reset button" on the franchise

– As you might expect from the success of Avatar, Ghost Rider 2 might be done in 3D

– Says Goyer has just delivered his updated outline to the studio

– And says Ghost Rider 2 could easily be in front of the cameras this year

Cage as Blaze = fail
