Never heard of juring. And what is this stuff about sugar, picture, and procedure????
They're pronounced shugar, procejure and picchure.

pittsburghese is sometimes hared to under stand but its mostly "during"
unless we speak real fast then it sounds like "juring"

You know, you could learn the international pronunciation key (IPA).

'bath', I occaisionally pronounce the 'a' like in 'can't', but never throw an r in there. Sounds weird.

Juring? That seems ridiculous...

I say 'during'...

Jesus Christ, the "a" in can't is absolutely not universal.

I know, as southern Britons pronounce "can't".

Education, Procedure, Durable?

I know, but in Britain, everyone pronounces it the same, as far as I know.

Education, Procedure, Durable?

But I add the 'j' sound AFTER the 'd' sound...

ED-jucation, ProceDE-jure, and Durable? Durable has no 'j' sound for me.

And 'd' is the first consonant in the word 'during'. No real way I could see a 'j' sound coming from that, but that's just me...

No, I pronounce it like 'toon'.

But if I ever do mix it up, or say it differently, I will say 'tyoooon'. But not with a "ch" sound.

Well, I'm sure you pronounce a 'ch' sound in picture and overture.

Maybe it's just because they're at the beginning of words.

Probably just the fact that I'm American, and that's my accent srug

I was refering to Americans as a whole, but yeah. I always struck it as unusual.

Is it der-ing or dyer-ing?

I pronounce "tune" like the Beatles did in "With a Little Help from My Friends".
