Darth Sidious vs Bane

In this they can only use force lightning as a weapon. No lightsabers or any other force attacks, just lightning. Whose lightning is more devastating and deadly.

They both are at their peek. I don't want to say DE Sidious, because a lot of people are going to make the arguement that Sidiou's lightning did not seem that powerful, even though Sidious was said to be at his peek at that time. I would say his greatest display of lightning was when he took out a legion of storm troopers with ease, and when he melted the skin off of three dark prophets at the same time, using only one hand. And both those instances happened before DE.

Yes, I would say that if this is TPM through ROTS Darth Sidious, then Bane wins.

Otherwise, I'm...uh. Hell, I'm still not sure. I'll just say that anything later than ROTS and Sidious will win.

TPM sidious is far more formidable than ROTS sidious considering he actually had time to practise and keep his skills up to date in the shadows, as ROTS sidious, he couldn't do much with the force and saber for 13 years.

in lightsaber battle darth bane has the edge due to his brute strength and speed he will simpy break through his guard by using djem so but i think sidious has the edge when it come to using the force that if it the clone version.

He'd be more formidable in swordsmanship only.

As far as Bane versus Sidious goes, Bane's saving grace is his orbalisks. Skill-to-skill, power-to-power, the Emperor wins.

A is more powerful than B overall.

B has feats and displays in certain areas that A never shows.

A must be able to meet or exceed B's feats.

Sidious is more powerful than Bane; it's not just my assertion -- it's a canonical fact -- though I am totally aware of how much it irks Nebaris and friends.

For every "skill" that Bane has demonstrated proficiency in, I could, perhaps name three that is unique to Sidious. Let's not kid ourselves here, buddy. As far as demonstrated abilities, it is to your detriment to compare Bane to Sidious.

The only reason Bane might win this is because he has orbalisks. Power-wise? Palpatine's better.
