He only killed Doomsday when he realized it was the only way to stop him.
And taking out the JLA alone in of itself does not justify lethal force.

Anyway, Thanos was weakened when he fought Gamora if you were paying attention. It has a lot to do with it... and besides, Thanos was faking it.
