Last Horror/Thriller Film Watched?

Watched the remake of House on Sorority Row last night called... Sorority. Wasn't as bad as I thought it would be but still pretty rubbish, though enjoyed the very end scene where it's usually

Spoiler:
the main killer who turns up again after getting killed, but turns out to be the boy from the beginning, who they played the prank on, standing there holding a weapon ready for the sequel
.

Halloween II (2009) Unrated Director's Cut.

It wasn't all that good, but it had some great gore and kills.

The theatrical finale was, somewhat, better in my opinion.

Saw VI

Just watched Let the right one in. Absolutely loved it and just ordered the book.

The book is fantastic. The writer also has another book out that is worth reading called Handling The Undead.

Will have to check it out. Any new good horror movies out there?

Haven't seen many good ones lately.

Watched Book of Blood last night, was all right. Some dodgy acting(and there shouldn't have been with the cast they had) and script though, and they shouldn't have made Sophie Ward speak with an American accent; it was terrible, should have stuck with her British accent like the rest of them in the film. Could have been a rather creepy film, but failed.

^ You're so critical, wench face.

Why, did you think it was a masterpiece? arse face.

Hahaha no, I dont... never even seen the POS. You sure can be a snooty-arse horror critic, wench-face : P

"I dont like this, I don't like that *wah*wah*wah*wah* "

Watched The house of the devil.

This is some god damn quality-acting. Some might claim the movie got off to a slow start, but I loved it. You could simply sit there and revel in the incredible actors and feel the tension build up. I'll take atmosphere over instant-shock any day of the week.

Just finished Van Diemen's land. It was a fairly good movie. I enjoy the decent actors and overall tone. It had a worthwhile build up and since I did not know who Pearce was, it took me a little while to realize that

Spoiler:
they would eventually start cannibalizing eachother
The music was also great and I especially enjoyed the short interlude where Pearce gave us some of his philosophy.

I hated it. I have no idea why they bothered making a frame story of the Books of Blood volumes, when there are so many great short stories to give it a shot. And if this was to be done, I just felt it would have been done better.
I was really looking forward to seeing this movie, and when i saw it...it was a huge let down.

I did however see 'Dread' and the movie was much much better. Much better than the Midnight Meet Train too. With Barker's stories - if and when they do more, will be a hit or miss.

I think they should give these to the Europeans to make into movies.

Triangle 2009 and IT SUCKS!!

I think they should give these to the Europeans to make into movies.

Wasn't Book of the Dead a European made film? or just a British cast.

Watched The Haunting in Connecticut last night, decent horror.

Just finished Triangle and From Beyond.

Both good movies, from beyond was one of the greater horror movies I've seen lately. Really, really liked it. Lovecraft makes incredible stories and the idea of something that we can not ordinarily see is a great one. Granted, the special effects were relatively weak, but the time it was released has to be considered.

Next up is Re-Animator. Read the short stories, one of his "weaker" stories, but never saw the movie.

I more meant continentals - French, Spanish, Norwegans...

Speaking of Norwegians, I'm looking forward to seeing ''Skjult''. Will be seeing it tomorrow and will report back.

Just watched Frontier(s), the unrated directors cut version. There was something deeply disturbing about this movie.
Much like what makes a lot of French horror so difficult to watch is the cruelty of hope that is given to the characters in a very real way. You almost think things will end like in a Hollywood movie...but they rarely do.

Just seen Skjult.

It was very beautifully shot and

Spoiler:
you get the twist half way through the movie, which for me was kind of strange
- I wasn`t expecting it.
It wasn't one of the best I've seen but I enjoyed.

Halloween II(2009) - Much better than the terrible first remake but still nothing amazing, a decent slasher film that could have been so much better.

For slashers I recommend The Hills Run Red.
