very true......but that's not what people who usually speak of their calendar say. They say the world will end on Dec. 21 2012 because that is the last day on the Mayan calendar. to which I reply, "the mayan civilization crumbled centuries ago....if they had this forsight, why make a calendar at all knowing their civilization would not be around to use it".
