If he had more feats Id be more inclined to give him more credit.

Alex had better tech and is prolly smarter. What has Doom done that is better than recreating the entire freaking Multiverse? Plus he manipulated Rann-Thanagar, all of Earth super-villains, and etc. Sure he died in the end after he'd lost all his powers, and was all alone with no tech of any kind and got jumped by Luthor and Joker. Not something to really be ashamed of.
