So how does

"doesn't want children" equate to

"never wants children"

or

"doesn't want children at the moment"?

Why is that so hard to understand for you?

This line of thinking makes you appear incredibly sexist, dadudemon. You've already claimed that any woman to approach a man will likely be infected with stds or be a gold digger, in another thread. Now you seem to be claiming that women are hard wired with the decision to have children, whether they claim otherwise or not.

You have provided absolutely no proof for either of these claims, as always. Yet again, it's just this horribly told anecdotal tripe that you somehow expect us all to swallow.

Generalizations are not true for all groups. I've already made it quite clear that not all want children. Where's the problem?

Obviously, not all women who approach you in a club or a bar have STDs or are looking for a sugar daddy. But as a rule of thumb (lol at the origin reference) you should be wary of those types, obviously. If you want to have random relations with ladies who approach when you're out, feel free. Let me know how it turns out for you. Best of luck to ya.

Oh, and I'll never provide proof of those claims. NEVER! HA!

The problem is with your constant insinuation that you somehow know that Bardock's girlfriend will in the future, want children.

So you should be wary of any woman that approaches you? Why does the same rule not go for men? Seems like patriarchal nonsense to me.
Obviously anyone should be wary of who they sleep with etc. But that's not at all the message conveyed by your post in the other thread.

If you never post evidence (that isn't some long winded story, which characteristically ends in how big your muscles are) - then you're never going to be taken seriously.

It's hard for me to understand because it was in context. You just don't understand context at all. You can't connect one post to another in your mind. For some reason they are unrelated to one another.

We were talking about all women wanting children at some point in their life. I said "My girlfriend doesn't". You went all dadudemon (=****ing stupid).

No. Not at all. It seems quite obvious, to me, that she would not want children. How old is she? Would children REALLY be the best of ideas at this time? I think it's a "duh!". But who's to say that at some point in the future, she won't want to have children? I don't ever remember Bards ever saying the he asked her and she gave a "never want children" answer. Now he's just arguing semantics instead of actually answering the question.

Since I'm married, yes.

Before I was married, yes. If I didn't know them, and they approached me and it was obvious that it was for lovin's,... I remained skeptical...as should any dude. It's a little different when you're a girl as men are usually more bold (for cultural and physiological reasons). And then you have the cultural side of it where society dictates that the man has to pursue the women in most western cultures.

Like I said, go ahead, go to town. Let me know how that works out for you. If you don't end up with STDs, I will be sincerely happy for you.

If you want to split hairs and look into it too much, sure, call it sexist, call it patriarchal. I don't care what you think about my OPINION. A young man asked, I gave advice. Culturally, the men do the asking and pursuing. There's nothing wrong with a girl taking the initiative for some lovins, however, as a dude, you should be wary of that. I'm quite sure that girls talk to each other about the same things.

Duh?

That hurts, so very much. Wait, no it doesn't. Why don't you go punch a racist in the face?

Right, context. My bad. No, wait, your bad. So, can she come here and post and say that she never wants children? Hmm? Can she? Hmmm? Sure she can.

dadudemon:

do you accept that there are more women today than ever before who are choosing not to have children?

(also, so glad I don't do the meat shop thing)

She can, but I could just as well sign into her account and pretend, so why bother?

Also funny how you are so keen to make me produce real proof for my anecdotal evidence, while you don't understand the need when you make your stuff up.

Yup. Sure do. Whole heartedly. One of the first things I cleared up in this thread. In fact, I find/found* those types to be more attractive than those who would rather sit at home for 50 years with kids and grandchildren until they die.

It doesn't matter, really. I'm just proving the point that she probably hasn't closed the door completely. That's regardless of the word semantics you'd like to play. If she did not say "Never have children" then the door is still open.

Obviously this debate is going to go nowhere but in circles - the thing I tried to point out was the phrasing of your original post; it was so filled of patriarchal subtext, that I felt a need to point it out. You may not have meant it in that way, but that's how it appeared.

I consider bringing culture up to be a bit silly. All that sticking with that culture does is encourage male dominance and inhibit change. The fact is, that that culture is changing for the better - women are now free from scorn if they approach a man, drive a car, don't cook the meals - you know, all that stuff. Well, that's how it is where I am (the culture), I'm aware you're situated in the bible belt of the U.S, so it may well be different.

Many of the girlfriends I've had have approached me, instead of waiting for me to approach them - and I am completely STD free.

Why on earth would I go and punch a racist in the face? Oh, you're referring to a joke I made in another thread, nice.

must have missed that, so much stuff flying around (and I was paying more attention to mr. Thought anyways)

cheers

You aren't proving it. I told you, in her words, she doesn't ever want to have children.

You saying she will, doesn't prove anything. It just makes you seem like a giant douche.

The other comment you were referring to was in slight jest. Also, it didn't directly mention a specific three letter word because I'm at work and the internet use is being passively monitored more closely. "Get with", in my book, means sleep with. Old people say "sleep with". It's so 80s and 90s. 😄

Well, you shouldn't. Cultural mores have a large influence on culture. (LOL).

This is correct. But it doesn't address physiological reasons for "male boldness" now does it?

I'm glad, on many levels.

On that note, the lady can drive herself, pay for herself, get her own damn door, pay her own damn bills, etc......right? 😄

Congrats on doing it properly. (lol, on both accounts.) There's no reason a dude can't hook up with a lady, same night, that SHE approaches him for lovins...but...uh, you probably shouldn't do that too often. Even with some wrappings, you're still pushin' your luck.

Great. Thanks for playing, Bardock42. Or should I call you.......

Marius!

AHA!

And my saying she probably will want to eventually, still leaves room for her static decision. Working in absolutes is lame, obviously.

A decade from now, she won't be so immature that she can't let go of ego and admit she wants children IF that's what she wants. Girls seem to be better and getting over their ego and changing their minds. Case in point: look how long we've been "arguing" about this? I know, I know, it's because I'm a douche and an idiot. Right. We've been over it already. You think "she doesn't want to have kids" equates to "she never wants to have kids". It doesn't. It's pretty simple. Es seht wie ein Mann hat in Dein Kopf geschißt, und hat umrühren vergessen.

This IS on topic. Do you need a straw?

Oh my God, you actually are a complete moron, aren't you? This is not just an act. Unbelievable.

Dadudemon,

While it is certainly possible that Bardock's little plaything may change her mind in the future, as people can/do change their mind as they age, it is also certainly possible that she will not want children 10,20 or 30+ in the future. So you're arguing that she may is simply stupid, you are not her, you don't know how she feels and you certainly don't know how prone she is/will be to change.

What the hell. 😐

I'm betting on the side that she'll want children eventually. She may not go through with it, which I've never argued for. I could be wrong with my bet, but I've also left room for a "static decision".

Bardock42,

Yes I am literally a moron. You got meh.

Blind unfounded guess, is what you should really call it.

More and more women don't have children and never want to. It's just a fact. Less and less people find that Children is the ultimate goal and achievement of life (women and men). You, that greek fellow and burning thought, just ignorantly generalized and you probably realize yourself that Burning Thought is a nutjob, but try to backpaddle instead of just outright admitting that you supported an idiot, solely because you wanted to oppose me.

I never supported him. I just wanted something to talk about.

Since you anecdotal evidence carries just as much weight as mine, would you venture a guess on the changing percentage of childless couples in Germany? How about the U.S.? What about the U.K.?

Hmmm?

Oh, right, your argument is just as valid as mine. I'm just holding the stance that the vast majority of women, at one point or another, want children. Men do too, but I don't think on the same level.

If I said, "Nuh uhhhh! There is a recent resurgence of children bearing couples in recent times." You'd lost then, right? (I wouldn't win since that isn't my argument.)

Just face it, Bardock, you love the holy shit out of me and I make your days interesting, at times.

You don't know me. You don't know why I don't want children. You are behaving like an idiot by presuming something about me, based on no information at all..
The only way I would possibly have them is if I adopt.. and even then I would have to lose my mind before I consider it.

Don't overrate yourself.

And, opposed to you, I got some stats: http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2003/10/24/national/main579973.shtml

So, go **** yourself.

Hi, Sarah! How's the puppy?
