Unfortunately the militiamen shoved all the cover over the cliffside to delay the Grotos. It is all open battle, now.
The lightsaber fizzles out when you switch it off and clip it to your belt, about the same time as you draw your pistol (without frame or Force cost, thanks to Gunslinger). You nonchalantly gun down a pair of Grotos, Sparnik doing the same. Josiah takes a pot-shot at LaKresha, but she dodges.
LaKresha is not hanging back with her soldiers. She charges ahead, twirling her short swords into a back-hand grip.

15, 7, 15. Con shoots down three as they come up from the cliffside caves, the powerful pistol punching straight through them. Sparnik snaps an attack and brings down two himself. The militiamen, even as they drop, keep firing on the bad guys encroaching on their territory.
Josiah is more preoccupied as LaKresha charges him down. He tries shooting at her again, but to no effect as he rolls a 2. It is then that she closes on him and slashes in a back-hand grip across his throat with her left blade, then spins around and impales him on her right blade. He gurgles and falls back, blood spurting from his wounds. The move was a Quick Attack and only cost two frames.

We are getting to the end, now. LaKresha steps towards Sparnik, the militiamen and Grotos still exchanging blasterfire as casualties build on either side...
As LaKresha moves in, Sparnik attempts a double-shot, which she dodges. 11 and 4... miss! She does a tumble underneath the shots and comes up on her feet next to you. When you attack, she spends a Fortune point to increase her passive dodge to 20. Showing a feat of extreme athleticism, she arches backwards underneath your attack then flips back onto her feet.
Less than half-a-dozen militiamen still standing, fighting to the last man.

LaKresha is going to launch a snapped Quick Attack on Sparnik before you can act.
There is a rumbling noise in the distance, fast approaching.
Con takes a moment to look out across the surface of Vono'k. The cliff is a wonderful vantage point, you can see enemy forces coming before they can see you. Your Observation check reveals that the rumbling noise is coming from a troop transport that is coming your way. It bears Grotos markings. It will be here at the end of the next sequence, frame 60.
Sparnik performs a double-shot on LaKresha before she attacks him, and he lands a hit. The bolt glances off her armored shoulder for 7 damage, but it does not drive her back. She leaps up and brings her left-hand sword down on him in a snapped Quick Attack. Sparnik takes 5 damage despite ducking back, and she comes at him with another! This one crashes against his armor for 7 damage. And another, unsnapped, but this one misses.
After bringing down a few more Grotos, the last of your militiamen are blasted down, leaving just yourself and Sparnik against LaKresha and her minions.

"Kill the Jedi!" LaKresha orders her Grotos minions as she twirls her swords to continue her attack on the old guerilla fighter. They raise their blasters towards you...
LaKresha is not positioned so that you could attack her and her minions in the same movement, so I will take your attack on three Grotos. Kicking off of a nearby rock, Con leaps into action and swipes at the first as he lands. A 2 is a hit for 3 as your lightsaber cleaves through his armor but not him... but a reroll from Carnival of Carnage gives Con a 9, and so he spins around and cuts in deeper to finish off the mook before moving onto the next, whom he also kills with a 14. The final target is missed, even with a reroll. That leaves Con with four Grotos left standing.

Con needs to protect himself from the four shooters while LaKresha keeps at it with Sparnik.
In case you are seeking to subdue your enemies a little more quickly before that dropship arrives... I want to remind you that Con has Master Reflection, which allows him to reflect back shots from three enemies at once.
3, 4, 13... the Grotos that you are trying to Reflect all miss! This gives you a skill of 12 against the first, 11 against the second, and 1 against the last for reflecting back shots. You roll 11, 12, 17... two kills!
The last Grotos hits for 6 damage.
LaKresha launches another Quick Attack on Sparnik, snapped- 1 is a miss, but he dodged so she makes another, unsnapped. 13 is a hit for 6 damage as one of her swords scratches along his blast armor once again.

With two Grotos left standing, you are in position to include them and LaKresha in a Flying Charge...
After Con finishes off the final two Grotos in the original attack force with fast slashes, he throws himself towards LaKresha. She does not make any effort to avoid you, and even so she sidesteps you as you land and miss on a 14, due to the -5 penalty.
She instead dodges Sparnik's gunshot, which misses.
