Is it called Second Life for people who failed their first? 😐
Yeah, I LOL'd pretty hard at that bit.
Some people need to realize that there is a real world.
Open your mind. 🪩
Sorry, it had to be said 😛

lol, I might just be crazy on this one, but imho it is the emotional part of cheating that makes it bad
I mean, physical urges I can understand. At least after there is a foundation to work with. If you can't be loyal emotionally... God, I don't even know why you would be in the relationship...

There has to be a point of emotional disconnect. These two people are lame people, imo. The dude is lame from being a fat ass chronic game masturbator and the lady is lame for being a fatass whiner. The lady just strikes me as the type of b*tch that I wouldn't even talk to in the real world. You know, the type to whine about their husband at work to anyone and everyone while piling on a plethora of other emotional garbage that no one wants to hear. She has a point, though, about the seriousness of his cheating because they were lame enough to get serious about that dumb ass game. 😐
lol, agreed, these people, lame as shit

Am I the only one who thinks the wife hiring a cyber-detective is the funniest part of the whole thing?
lol, there were a couple of good WTF moments in the game.
I guess this must be common enough that there is a market for that kind of thing... I wonder if she paid in real money or in fake money, or would the performance of real work for cyber money validate it as a currency with a measureable value compared to the dollar?

I find the situation quite crazy, I don't think it is all that lame, though, really. But good we agree on the rest.

I don't see why this is funny or crazy or lame at allthe man was engaging in emotional relationships with people other than his wife.
show of hands, who would be upset if their monogamous partner was having cyber sex? compound that, pretend you met your partner having cyber sex as well.
Too many other posts to quote right at the mo'. crzeyes

Second Life is clearly out of control.
But seriously, people have payed real money for real work in a virtual world in the past. WoW and Everquest players have paid for people to level their characters so they can go do stuff in the real world (which sorta defeats the purpose of having a virtual world, IMO).

Real money is obviously a wrong term. All money is just as good as the trust you put in it. As such WoW Gold is just as good as the US Dollar...actually, looking at the latest crisis, I'd put more trust in Blizzard...those dudes have their shit together.
Really, if Google ever makes a currency, I'm on board.

Why not 'lame' if I may ask?
I don't think that either meeting, falling in love, marrying or divorcing someone on a virtual platform is particularly lame. The Internet gives you access to so much more people that it is very likely you will find someone better suited for you than IRL. The only thing I could think is lame is that they seem like a bit of idiotic, white trash...trash...but I don't think that the platform their douchiness (mostly the husbands) takes place on is of matter.

How do you mean? That we will lead (for the lack of a better analogy) a Matrix style existence? (minus the evil machines, neo, and kung-fu that is) If that is what you mean, then I personally believe that, although it is becoming increasingly easy to interact with people all over the word via the web, and that more and more cervices are being offered via it as well, that largely we will continue to live our lives in the real world. We still need to eat, sleep, drink and do all the things our body needs to sustain its self. The internet and OL (online life) may offer the opportunity to meet other people, perhaps even find a partner, but people still need physical contact. I'm sorry I'm a little tired at the moment so this isn't coming out quite as intricate as I had wanted, but I am hoping I am getting my point across 😛. Yes we will become more reliant on telecommunications and the world wide web, yes this offers new, and in a lot of cases improved ways of doing certain things, but I don not believe that we will delve entirely in to a non-real world existence, even in the long run.
I can see your point though, don't get me wrong. I just dont know to what extent I share the same opinion. Time will tell I guess.

This point I"m half with you on. You can meet someone via a platform, but to have a relationship entimrely within that platform, marry and spend prolonged periods of time together would be extremely difficult. How can one express their love entirely through text and pre-existing avatar gestures. Real life physical contact needs to happen eventually, for procreation and for the... well... physical contact, really.

I agree that, at the moment, offline life has many advantages, I think the people that married, in this case, moved together, if I am not mistaken. As such "Second Life" was just the platform where they met, and the platform where the husband went to find a new woman he could cheat on his wife with.
