I'm having a debate with someone retarded who thinks that smiling is a weakness

Well, I'd say whether it's a sign of weakness or not is dependent entirely on the situation, and whom you are smiling to/at.

I've seen it used as sarcasm before, many times. I believe it's actually used in a more of a manipulating way than in a weak.

I guess in the sense of it being a poker tell, that's a weakness. However, this is not a weakness because the person is smiling, the weakness is their inability to keep a straight face when they have to. This means that any facial gesture at an inappropriate time can be a sign of 'weakness'. Because I Can, tell your failfriend that his/her argument is invalid, and to STFU and GTFO. 😛

Smiling is a sign of happiness, not of weakness. Maybe the person you're arguing with is confusing these two because he/she/it isn't happy...or doesn't like to see other people happy and thus tries to make smiling and happiness seem bad?
