Who says there's gimps? Unless Supes gets progressively amped as Goku increases in power (say, sun-dipped) is what you're asking for? The problem with that is it's not Superman. He doesn't regularly get boosts in strength; he usually doesn't need it. Giving Supes amps to follow Goku's power progression is more of a gimp to Goku than anything else.

Goku just doesn't come back to life after he's dead, like a re-set button. He's wished back by someone, or someone takes his place etc. So allowing him endless lives where he just comes back stronger after each fight is a gimp to his opponent.
Okay, I see what you're saying. You think I mean that Goku can tank whatever Superman hits him with and will amp afterwards as if he's immortal.
I never once said I thought Goku wouldn't be dead, I thought you were outright ignoring Goku established ability to get stronger after a fight, regardless of whether he'd survive or not.

Goku is infinitely faster and a much better fighter also arguably stronger with many different levels to crank it up to. Id say Superman is on par with the 3rd Super Saiyan level and his energy blasts are nowhere near as powerful as a Saiyans. I think Superman is outclassed in too many levels for him to win but it'd be a good fight regardless.
