If you have a PS3 and are only going to get one game this fall, get Uncharted 2. If you have an XBOX 360 and are only going to get one game buy Uncharted 2 and just look at the cover art (or... you know... L4D2, if you feel you need to have game).
Whatever you do, just don't buy Assasians Creed 2, or Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 instead of Uncharted 2. I don't care you if get both or all three (I'm going to), but if you consider yourself any sort of gamer you need to get Uncharted 2.
Naughty Dog looks to be taking the gaming experience to a whole new level with Uncharted 2, give them the respect they deserve with big sales people! The game is going to win GOTY anyway, you might as well play it, I mean people will still be playing Modern Warfare in February, wait until then to buy it if you can only get one game.

honestly, im just not impressed. by all merits it looks like a very good game. well made i mean. but i got bored looking at that run through the train, as well as the co-op and the deathmatch videos. theres nothing here that hasnt been done, apparently better, by games like resident evil and gears.
on a personal note, and this is really completely a pet peeve of mine, i was really irritated by the fact that the helicopter missed every shot with its missiles. in real life helicopters can take out cars moving at 70 MPH from two blocks away.... it seems like one of those games where the bad guys are all a bunch of dumbasses and you're awesomesawce.
so the game looks good but its a rental for me, if that. ill stick with modern warfare and ghost recon and ARMA and odst. meh favorite franchises! 😄

I almost have it beaten and I have to say, I think I like it a bit better than the first one. My only problem with it is that it seems a bit easier than the first one.
This series is the primary reason why I ended up buying that system.

Well, I wouldn't go that far... if you don't have a PS3 there is no need to waste money on a game you will never play...

I probably wouldn't go that far just yet. That's alot of games to beat, However, it is definately my favorite game on a Playstation system I have ever played, and most certainly my favorite current-gen game so far aswell.
I loved the story, and the interaction between the characters was flawless. It;s just a very well crafted game.
I just finished the first Uncharted yesterday, and I was underwhelmed. The controls felt sloppy, the platforming felt off, and the gun battles felt annoying. The characters were great, though, and despite the problems I just mentioned I had fun with the game over all.
So I put in Uncharted 2, expecting more of the same. Good lord, the sequel is amazing. The graphics are on a whole other level, the problems I had with the jumping seem to be gone, the characters and story is even better than the first. The gunplay feels better, particularly the use of grenades. I'm only on Chapter 6, but already this game is heads better than the first, and easily already one of the best games I've played this year, as far as pure fun factor goes.
Defo one of the best single player experiences of all time. Compelling is the word i used, the type of game that gives you the "Just one more chapter before bed" frame of mind. Level design is frickin awsome, as are the set peices. I know everyone goes on about the train, but when you see it in full 1080p, on a large screen you'll see what everyone was talking about. Not even JUST the Train, The vehicle scenes in general are just spectacular, the way the zones transition between one another is fantastic. Couldnt recommened this game highly enough. You wont play it forever, for me it was a 2 back to back playthrough jobby. But it was worth every penny , and Naughty Dog are Artists..pure and simple.
Easily Game of the Year, by a country mile.
